Silence has been broken, Terry has spoken and he is staying.
Can't say i am surprised or disappointed, was a LOT of money to spend on a 28 year old who's heart would never have really been in it, we have a few of those already lol
Hope this means Dunney stays and Nedum too, not sure a swap deal for him + cash to Everton for Lescott is good for anyone, cept the agents

Looks like City are back in for another of Arsenal's scraps - Toure.

Arsene must be laughing at these mugs paying top dollar for the players hes looking to offload!

Whilst i know what you mean about Toure, i am not sure Arsene is doing much laughing of late
Think the Emirates move could have a crippling long term effect on Arsenal..........for the record that doesn't make me smile in anyway, have very little angst against other teams, well, cept 2 that i can think of off the top of my head and Arsenal aren't one :)

Wenger doesnt need alot of money to compete with the top 4. He has never been a big spender. He manged to get ONE of the worlds best midfielders on a free, Fabregas

With the Highbury project yet to be have made any real money on, and the money arsenal make on gate receipts , Arsenal are in alot better position than 90% of the other premiership teams.

The players Arsenal have, and maybe an additional 1/2 players, will make Arsenal contenders again. Also with the team being so young, they will get alot better with age.

City throwing their money around at players no one truely want will not make them a top 4 team.

Any of the top 6 teams will not be worried by city until they bring in a manager who knows what he is doing. I do not think Wenger would have sold Adebayor to city if he was worried about them also.

My take on city transfers

Adebayor - Only good with the Arsenal midfield creating ALOT of chances for him. He will be poor for city.

Tevez - Not a prolific goal scorer, gifted a grafter. SAF would also not have let him go if he thought he was worth the asking price.

Barry - Overated.

Santa Cruz - OK . With all the strikers city have, will he get alot of starts?

I'm sorry but the related link clip was SOOOOOOOOO much funnier
Click

I know what you mean but don't kid yourself, Arsene has splashed the cash, Arshavin (sp?) weren't cheap as were some other's
I read summat the other day and Arsenal are one of the biggest, in debt clubs in the world. Highbury/Emirates may never give them the revenue they planned for and unless the cash rich board refinance it could cause major problems
Not sure Wenger had a choice in selling, i do wonder if Barca came big time for Cesc would he be sold
I don't expect top 4 this or next season and yes, have to agree, will never be a fan of Hughes, preferred Sven tbh

The price Wenger paid for Arshavin is the going rate for an AVERAGE player these days,

Adebayor cost around £3mil, Toure around £1mil, Van Persie around £3mil and Fabregas - Free
Wenger paid the average price for a world class player.

He might spend around £15mil a transfer window if your lucky, while most clubs spend £20 - £50mil (Tottenham for example) £ for £, Wenger is a top manager.

Wenger did not need to sell Adebayor, he used the fans hatred excuse for getting rid. Adebayor became extremely lazy after getting his big pay check.

Can't argue with the £ for £ logic, not at all
I cannot sit here and say, i am entirely happy with what is happening at my club.
We have one of THE best youth academies producing young, home grown, UK talent.
What of them is the worrying thing. Sturridge bailing could be the 1st of many
I think Hughes is Agent Hughes working on behalf of Taggart
Would be fun watching Wenger spend the billions :)

Wenger's struggling, it's a myth his team is young, many of them are 23/24 now, and should be hitting their peak. He can get some talent, like Fabregas, but he's bought a lot that are scattered around the lower clubs.

Struggling LOL

You do realise players dont peak until they are 26/28
Arsenals midfield average at 20/21

Denilson - 21

Fabregas - 22

Nasri - 21

Walcott - 20

Diaby - 21

Alex Song - 21

Aaron Ramsey - 18

Wilsere - 17

Arshavin OAP - 28

STRIKERS

Bendtner - 21

RVP - 25 (Young in striker terms)

Vela - 19

You are right in saying the team young thing is a myth tho.....

Also the players scattered around the lower clubs were players who were not 1st teamers and were products of the youth system ( be it stolen from other clubs or arsenals own) and sold on for a decent price.
