LOOOOOOL

I love em....

to be fair it was the auction and according to the latest Glass guide I just saved £3.5k on the court price....so I could sell it on straight away 9which I am considering) and make £3K+

Manual will be better on fuel, I just got rid of my 2.0 auto Neon, I was lucky if I got 180 miles out of a full tank

Car tax = ouch! (unless its one of the early rubbish ones )

I'm in the trade ODB_69. Ex-motab would worry me as I see a lot of their returns, and the condition they're in inside and out.

SELL IT ON QUICKLY. It will cause you many miles of trouble, aggravation and expense IMHO.

Good luck with whatever your decision

Couldnt believe how cheap some went for...cars that would be £6K at a garage going for around £2K....so many people buying them who were obviously just selling them on...guy next to us bought 10 in 20 mins

well my mum has one and her's always perfect when they go back and the condition of this one looks good...taking it to my cousin tomorrow to get her mechanic to check it over...but I am seriously considering putting it straight up for sale and making some fast money off it and buying another...I'm actually considering buying a few and making some money off it

I genuinely hope and believe so...spoke to my cousin (she's in the business) about it and she thought it was a bargain too

No doubt. But the occasional 2-300 I check in probably aren't as good as your Dad's. That's all I meant. Not having a dig at any ex-Motab drivers.

do this to it, wouldn't have to worry about traffic

Im after a Clio (coz that what Im used to, have driven and its cheap to run)

Bought a X Reg for £2k in 2006 but it got stolen from outside home. How much should I expect to pay for a similar aged Clio, or what would I get for say, £1k? Just need a run about for work so nowt to flash. Only gonna be full of PC equipment

The last 2 cars Ive bought are ex-motability from an auction. Best ones to go for IMHO.

Obviously the depreciation will continue to be quite high - but for the money you cant go wrong. Tax doesnt really come into it (My current one will cost me £275 - and thats a Vauxhall Zafira 1600) - and whislt fuel will add to the expense, at least you are driving a decent car.

Did you not wonder why the dealers at the auction didn't buy your " bargain "?...;-)

well I was having a battle with a dealer for it...suppose he had a set limit so he could make maximum value...I wanted it for private use so therefore I went higher

Possibly but it's not always the case, Some folk look after their Disabled cars as it doesn't cost them anything to maintain them.

Think they have to have them in for servicing anyway so lots will or should be mechanically sound.

Yes they could be shabby inside etc but that's usually visible.

Personally I'd never buy a car from an auction myself but I would to sell on if the price was right, But in my experience cars go to auction for a reason.
