washing machine needs a clean, do you put the soda crystals in drum or drawer, or both?

the hoover man who fixed mine said you should give your machine a service wash (empty) at least every 6 months or so. Helps to remove soap scum around the seals :thumbsup:

£ land or 99p shops do them :thumbsup: picked up a few boxes yesterday.

yep, does a much better descaling job. My washing machine started to take ages so I checked out the element and was covered with scale so put it on a 90 degree wash with some washing machine cleaner and completely removed all the scale.

saves a fortune in electric too for those of us who live in a hard water area as keeps the element as new :thumbsup:

Started using soda crystals some months back after reading something about it making the soap powder or equivalent more effective and you could use less. Surprised to find that it removed the soap scum at the same time. Good stuff
