Ok, I can cannot through wireless on my laptop but not through ethernet cable.

It says that I am connected when I am not. I can connect to the router but cannot visit any webpages.

I was using a solution which was:

in cmd type ROUTE DELETE 0.0.0.0 and that was making it work but now it seems to not be working :|

Any ideas or solutions would be much appreciated!

The router is turned on and works with wireless to my laptop. However, via ethernet cable I can only connect it the router page and not any websites.

Hi,
You need to access the routers web setup page and reset all the data relating to your internet connection as provided by your ISP.
Also make sure that you do not have any malware on your PC that might be stopping your access.

John

Do you have a network set up at all? If so, you need to add the laptop to the network before it will work.

You may have changed a setting of the router to disable 'ethernet' connections, as suggested you should try resetting the router and re-entering your ISP details.

Enable your network card, get IP automatically eg properties of network card in PC, then internet protocol tcp/ip ...obtain ip auto do same for DNS. log into your router make sure DHCP is running apply / save etc.

Must be your NIC Card/Adapter then, what is the status of the Network when it's connected via ethernet ?

Set it up something like this:

Look in your routers settings for a free IP, and the subnet and DNS servers.

Thanks a bundle, will take a look at that when I get home from work.

I was just about to say this. Except not as detailed lol. This is the way to go.

Plus go into the network connections, tell us your computers ip address.

yeah let us know also try and remove ipv6 ... best bet would be to uninstall your network card from device manager let windows pickup drivers again or update them and use DHCP as saying as your wireless one will be more thqan likely using a dhcp assigned ip and not static same page just different tick boxes.eg obtain IP automatically

Would be nice to see what IP your pc says at minute and what ip your laptop uses eg post them.

The problem was with Adobe CS3. They installed software called "Bonjour" which for some reason allocated a gateway 0.0.0.0 . After lookign into the problem I was able to remove it and it is working :) Thanks to all who helped, what a great community!
