your only chance of finding the problem is by elimination , try the memory card on another windows or pc, try connecting the psp through the usb cable instead of using the the card reader and other stuff just because the psp recognizes the memory does not mean that the card is not faulty , but thats the risks you have for buying fakes

thanks - yes, have tried the card on the desktop (older) with same problem. Just tried connecting the psp for the first time by iusb cable but the computer isn't recognising the psp! (says "USB device not recognised"). lololol (better than screaming!)

thats strange. I've not used vista yet but the psp should be a standard plug and play it should come up as a removeable harddrive just like a external harddrive, thats what happens in xp anyway but i did have almost similiar experience with a 8 GB duo last year everything worked and looked okay but when i accessed the memory card on the psp console everything came up as corrupted data

Well, I've had other probs with memory cards being recognised with Vista - esp on this lappy. Had to update drivers last time after talking to Dell, so might be something similar. Happened with a Micro SD in adaptor and a regular SD card - all genuine cards too. :?
