Hi there,

I basically lost my phone and had to order a new sim (i'm on contract)..

soo I bought a new phone samsung u800 locked on t-mobile..

But when i use my virgin sim in the phone it keeps saying "call failed" when ever i attempt to make a phone call.. It is picking up a signal.. and im utterly clueless as to why it isn't working..

Anyone have an idea??

Also i recieved the sim this morning and it still ain't working...

any help is much appreciated! :)

Start at the beginning, you lost your phone, bought a samsung locked to T-Mobile and put a virgin sim in it and you wonder why it doesnt work. Could the truth of the matter be becuase its is locked to t-mobile and you are trying to use a different network sim in it.Ignore any comments made by flp14344 maybe has issues with reading. If your phone is locked to a provider you cant use another sim. When you say T-mobile wont work either you need to top them up firs to activate like you said.I gather you are on Virgin, YES. If so you need either an unlocked one or a virgin locked handset.Or where you state "Virgin" do you actually mean the network, if so, the explaination is above.

I can prove that is not always the case with handset I have in front of me now.

But try typing this code into your handset and post results

*#7465625# - this will bring up Lock Menu which will tel you which locks are present and inplace.

Also try doing a full manufacturer hard rest via Engineer Mode, sometimes works. My LG had signal issues, wouldnt get one but full hard rest solved it.
