Some people have no respect for others property, got up this morning to find some delightful lil scum bag has keyed the passenger side of the car from bonnet to boot, really peed off as the car was only resprayed 6 months ago, last week they done the drivers door which I thought was bad enough but they came back for another shot lastnight, looks like someone has it in for me as none of the other cars parked there had been keyed

Is it really worth reporting it?

yes

get a cctv camera
#2
yeah you may as well, there could be a CCTV near your area that the could check.

seems alot more people are doing this, shame really, shows what kind of country were living in today
#3
i'd report it just to get a crime/incident number just in case you need it at a later date. saves the "why didn't you report it earlier" etc
#4
Had the same on my Type-R Honda a few months ago.

Both sides, one worse than the other.

Makes my blood boil and think whats the point having a nice car.

The communal parking isnt anywhere near the house sadly, its a good 30 foot away so couldnt put up my own cctv and there isnt any down there either :o(

Have an idea who it could be,he is only 13 years old and a lil torag to say the least,I called the police the other night as him and a group of his yobbos decided it was funny to stand behind bushes and launch fireworks at oncoming cars,by the time the police arrive they have boogered off and you get strung the same line theres nothing they can do
#7
what jellybaby said, If you happen to "come" across their car maybe you have a little "accident"
#8
at 13 he hasnt got one unless he has pinched someone elses, that wouldnt suprise me either!
#9
I've always thought there is no point in having a decent car if you have to park it on the street. So many low lifes and drunks staggering home it's only a matter of time before your car is dented, scratched or broken.
#10
fit a flamethrower to the side of your car, that means when he tries to key it next all the fireworks in his pants will go off
#11
you know you can report it, and then put a claim in to the victims of crime fund - ask at your police station for the form. Unlikely to get the full cost and not sure if this kind of thing is covered but its worth a try.

last thing to do is key someone elses car 'dean3988' and if he's 13... lol you could have a go at his bmx

yeh cut the forks off and leave a little bit intact so when he gets on it he will do a faceplant

The idiot who lives opposite me on the corner parks his big wagon thing right on the corner on the path so we have to squeeze past it. I wont let my 3 year old son walk round it on the road, as people in the street drive like maniacs, so told him to walk sideways past it while i walked round. He lovingly drove his toy car along the side leaving a huge scratch - did i care - no!!! hopefully the idiot will take the hint and not park a wagon on a corner :D

feel for you though if it was just a random numpty doing it for no reason :-(

+ yes report it, and get (even if its a fake) security camera

Sorry, got jealous of your car.

Similar thing has happend to me 3 times, not the car but I've reported stuff and by time the police get there it's too late. 2 were people getting beaten up and the third was kids setting a shed on fire.

Don't think I'd bother again.

Different with your own proprety though, report that so you at least have a crime number.

^Exactly why "crime is going down", apparently. Reports are - crime isn't!

Def file an incident report with the police, OP. Nothing will happen but it's worth having it on record. Don't let it get to you too much, though I don't blame you one bit, but it's only metal and the car's still going. :)

Edit: Hope someone keys the kids eyes out.

How infuriating - people like that make me soo mad :x. A couple of seconds doing what they think is called 'having a laugh' and it causes so much hassle, not to mention money. Around 2 years ago some kids decided to pour paint stripper over random cars in our and a couple of other neighbouring streets. They poured it down the back of one of ours, and we seemed to have 'got off' quite lightly compared to some other people. One young girl over the road had just passed her test and had had her car for just over a week. They poured it all over the roof and it had run down all over her car. It cost us a small fortune to get ours sorted (money we didn't have at the time either!) We did report it to the police, along with other people but nothing ever came of it. I hope you manage to sort it out without too much hassle. Good luck :)

some insurances cover vandalism now dont they ? , about 20 years back i had a 2.8 injection capri and had just fitted 4 pirelli low profile tyres that cost £300 they were my pride and joy, a few days later i woke up for work and all 4 had been slashed, gutted, was only earning like £70 a week then also.

mindless pigs, makes you wonder what is coming of the youngsters of today,at 13 i would never of even dreamt of damaging someone elses property for fear of my parents giving me what for if they found out, think thats half the problem with these mini chavs who think theyre above the law and have all the "rights"
would love to get hold of that lil 13 year old and give him what for,he stands outside my house smoking his rollys and calling me a harsh bitch, reported that, police's view is "he is just a kid"
So be it but people shouldnt have to put up with that **** in their own home

This makes my blood boil! :x And it's ALWAYS the decent, hard working people that end up having to stump up for toe-rags and low-life scum doing that sort of thing. :x

Next time make sure your car is wired up to mains ;-)

my other halfs got done couple of weeeks ago rung the police and they said since it dosent de value your car it isnt worth them even checking the cctv !!!! in other word they dont care !!!!
#25
A few years back now, we woke up one day to find someone had twisted our windscreen wipers into (almost) a figure of eight. Went to the local auto shop to buy some more to find that they'd had loads of folks in for the same. Turned out some drunks (extremely strong drunks!!!!) had done a few streets, twisting wipers completely out of shape. Senseless! :x
#26
Very annoying...

Especially the door dings you get when parked for shopping etc

That really gets me...

I disagree with that,of course it devalues the car who wants to buy a car with squiggly lines inscribed from front to back?!

Did they strike again?
