I've manoeuvred one of our cars nice and close to his (see pics below) and I was tempted to let the tyres down but think that sort of makes the situation worse for us, especially as we're gonna need the space after 6pm. I've also left him a notice reminding him that he is parked on private property and that there is a public road at the top where he can park.

Any other ideas what I can do?

I would have parked behind him and gone out.

If he is cheeky enough to park on your drive he'll probably do his utmost to get it out of that space and probably damage your car in the process.
#3
let tyres down - you'll get locked up

call the police - seems a clear case of obstruction, nice fat ticket for his/her troubles.
#4
Clamp his vehicle.
#5
If they dont accept it then get police involved; because if thats on private property then could be classed as trespassing no?

+1 Yeah block them from being able to get out and leave it there for the night.

This on your driveway? How ridiculous?

Can I pop round and watch ya TV later?
#9
Is that your Mini too? If so, park the VW one side and the Mini the other (so that the can't open any of the doors) and then watch them through your window laughing, as they try and climb in through the boot

Probably stolen & they wil be back later to pick it up if it hasnt got a tracker on !

I'd give the police a bell & see if it is stolen (if not, cut brake cable, push into middle of road & inform the police of a car causing a public obstruction. They will have to come out promptly &tow it away).
#11
clamp..stick a poster up telling people they will be clamped..cha ching £100 or whatever you want
#12
Some people are just born stupid I reckon. You are right, letting his tyres down would make it worse. Would just leave a note this time and then if he does it again call hte Old Bill (when Bob Cryer was in charge) and get hime a ticket. Perhaps he didn't know it was private, some people really are just that thick.
#13
id park infornt of him, he will then have to kock on your door to move ur car.
you can then tell him wat a doche he is

are both the garages yours? sorry bit confused to whose is who and what is what - lol
#15
you should ring the police anyway - cos how do you know its not been nicked and left there - get the registatration number and ring the local station - they will check to see if it has been reported stolen - also it may have been used in a job and left there
#16
Pee on his brakes, makes a horrible sound in the morning, plus they'll get laughed at when they take it to the garage for a 'repair'

Anything like our local police they won't get there till a week on Thursday.
#23
2 strategically placed nails should do the trick.
#24
If it's all legal, the Police won't do a thing.
If it's off road, they will do even less.
#25
It's not even well parked. I'd block it in and then give the owner a right gobful when she gets back.
#26
I would take his/her wiper blades as a deposit for the parking charge, they come off in a few seconds without any damage, leave a note on the screen that they will be returned once payment has been made by cash in full.;-)
#27
Everything in the pics (apart from the mondeo) is ours and on our property. I was tempted to completely block him in with the mini but I've recently had it resprayed and don't want to risk getting it scratched again!

If I get the police involved or do anything too drastic the owner of the car might hold a grudge and brick my window or something, do you not think?

I live in a very quiet area so highly doubt it's been nicked, usually when people park on our driveway they are just dropping something off locally. However, this has been here since early this morning.

I wouldn't park your car like that if i was you!!!........... the other car could be stolen/park for a robbery later :whistling: and if they come back for it they will just CRASH your car................. call the police they will check if its stolen.......

Probably the guy you bought the tyres from
http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/433193/bought-some-car-tyres-on-ebay-but-t

I'd report it to the police in case the car is stolen and abandoned....
#31
id block it in completly, then when they come to ask you to move it, give them a mouthful and say you'll be out in a minute, then just leave them there waitig for as long as possible.

another person had the same problem not so long ago, just ring the police (non emergency) and say that they are blocking your drive, they will come out and get thr driver to move it (if they can find them) or tow it
#34
Don't bother with the police. Just phone the local council and tell them there is an abandoned vehicle on your property blocking access. They'll come and helpfully tow it away and charge the owner a fortune to get it back.
#35
Block them in at least give you the satisfaction of them having to grovel for you to move it. As it is you are asking for damage to your car IMO.

When they ask say you just finishing a meal and will be out in 20 minutes.

Mate don't be bullied? Phone the police. Or phone a company that deals with clamps.

Do you not have a gate on your property?

surely if where you live is very small and quiet you could knock on a few doors and ask, i know you shouldnt have to but surely it would only take a couple of mins
