get the twilight hack of wikibrew linked.
(download for 3.4)
Put it on SD Card.
Put SD card into Wii.
Put Zelda Into wii.
Play Zelda and save once.
Load twilight hack and move backwards. Let hack do its thing, follow instructions/accept stuff. When it reboots, done.

Yeah just delete the channel

I have done it with both, and the Zelda version is much easier.
Since you have the game, use it.

The bannerbomb(Non Zelda) is always my 2nd choice.

Is there still a risk of bricking the wii with the other was without the zelda game?

I would think that anything that messes with the firmware of a console carries the risk of bricking it.

I find bannerbomb a lot less hassle and messing about.
