I've never installed games onto my 360's harddrive; does it make any difference gameplay wise, i.e. shorter loading times?

the main benefit is they play almost silently, no angry sounding disc drive spinning at an incredible speed which is what makes 360 so goddam loud! so well worth it!

not sure if it improves loading times? apparently ps3 has better loading times than 360 on certain multi platform games, ps3 forces you to do an install so i guess it does!

No you need the disk in order to start up the game.

If you could do that they would only sell aobut 5 copies of every game :-D

You have to put the disc in to start the game

the main advantage of the hard drive installations are faster load times and the fact the disc doesnt spin, thus keeping the heat down lowering the chances of a red ring of death and increasing the life of the disc drive

Well worth it.....better than most full priced games. Starts off realy easy and then gets challenging and very addictive. They'd easily get away with releasing it as a proper game. :)

Cheers, I'll give it a go, especially if it quietens it down a bit. Loading times don't bother me too much and it's only on Elder Scrolls: Oblivion that started to irritate me. I barely play it anyway.

I had 1190 so I couldnt get Trials. The trial version of the game was quite crap though, didn't show off the game at all.

I wonder how they have made the game installations smaller, its racking my brains now.

Yes, the demo version is rubbish and simplistic but i bought it because i have thousands of points on there and i'm glad i did now. :)

Debating whether to waste more on a stormtrooper outfit now.

Ahh, I had 1190 left after buying like 4000 a while ago, had them just before TLAD came out and seen as most decent arcade games are now 1200, decided to get Worms 2.

A lot of the stuff on game discs is 'filler' data so that game data can be written on areas of the disc which can be read easier and quicker to reduce load times, you can remove all this filler data and still have the full game.
