Sony 100Hz or 50Hz - Advice needed please

Hi People
Looking for some advice please, I'm thinking of upgrading to a 46" Sony kdl-46ex403 and selling my 40" kdl-W5500 but noticed that the 403 is 50Hz as the W5500 is 100Hz. I was wondering if there's much of a difference or whether its better to go for 46" with 100Hz?

Your advice would be much appreciated.

depends what you wanna do, most things output in 50hz but blu ray and ps3 can be higher.
pretty much all TVs nowadays are 60hz + so id say go for 100hz

I think if you have a games console i.e ps3, some games cannot be played if the tv is 50hz because the screen keeps bouncing and its fuzzy which is waht happend to me, so bought a new lg tv which has 60hz and never had a problem with any games and i have loads of games. hope this helps

I have a PS3 which is used occasionally and 100Hz Sony is about £150 more than the 50Hz, Is it worth it?

My samsung is 50 hz and with my xbox its fine through hd connection , but definatly go 100hz or more im upgrading as watching films or programmes you can see flicker on the black colour. HZ is the rate the information is transfered on the screen so the hogher it is the less flicker you see, hope this helps.
