Sony CPF-IX001 Finally Works 100% With Vista!!

Around a year ago there was a deal on here for a free CPF-IX001 wi-fi speaker system when buying an NW-A series Sony mp3 walkman.

The bad news was the Vista compatibility (even with Vista update) was useless. There was a lot of discussion on here about it and I tried various solutions with the existing software and some small updates but could never get it to work correctly with Vista.

For those who have kept their speaker system in hope that one day it will work like a dream with Vista, I can confirm that it now works 100% and is awesome!

I was having a clear out and decided to have a quick look online before getting rid of the speakers today... I found that there are recent updates that sort all of the original issues so it was worth holding on to them!

Get the latest software and firmware updates here and just follow the instructions. You should have it all up and running in around 10 minutes.

Software:

Firmware:

I brought one of these about 6/7 months ago and had a nightmare getting it to work with vista, just updated the firmware etc and it all worked fine...took a while though!

Glad it worked for you too! The only fiddly bit I found was putting in the wep or wpa of the router - having to go up and down with the remote buttons. Music streams really quicly to the speakers doesn't it. I've got to find a website with a good list of internet radio stations to paste into mine now.

I've one of these and tried docking my A808 player to it but can never get the remote to go up/down the folder menu - anyone have a way round this?
