Sony Ericsson W995.00 Faulty? Easy Fix As New

Sony ericsson w995 as new condition, has the original screen protector on the back and front it came with when brought, so virtually brand new. Problem is it says no network coverage on the screen, :( i have been told that this could be fixed by a simple free flash, but i dont know how to do it and wouldnt have the confidence to do it. Its unlocked though, comes with a 8gb memory card, charger, external speakers, usb lead and headphones. Phone was on t-mobile at first. Apart from the "no network coverage" everything works fine, unfortunately, i lost the reciept so cant get it fixed has a 8mp camera, wifi, walkman, 3g video calling, track id, etc. Full spec can be found ona sony ericsson website. As new condition. No silly offers, as i say, the phone is in mint condition and may be fixed via a free flash, im just not down to doing such a thing, everything else works fine, i will upload images soon when i find my camera. Hope someone can fix this as it literally hasnt been used that long. Thanks

Sure it hasn't been blocked by provider, or does that throw up a different message?

I dont think that has happened, i asked 2 proffesionals, at first the phone switched off and wouldnt turn on, so he flashed it, debranded it, and made it come on, since then it says no network coverage, read online and asked SE staff, they say it could be a software problem and that a flash, or a reinstallment of software would fix it, i think if it was blocked it would say inactive sim.

As far am Im aware you cannot fix the signal on this phone, I had one of these few months ago, it shows no signal on some sim cards, but works perfect on others. Try a different sim, even a different sim from the same provider.

Ah ok. But if a 'professional' fixed the original problem and now there is a new problem, wouldn't that suggest this mightn't be an easy fix...? I think you should pay to get it fixed and then sell it. Sounds too risky, especially as you don't have proof of purchase. Where/when did you buy it?

Tried that, but just keeps saying "you already have the latest software"
Thanks though.

Have been told you can change the file names or delete some currently on the phone before updating with that link so it fools it into thinking your on an older firmware. Dont quote me on that though as I havent tried it myself!

I presume this isn't for sale any longer - perhaps OP you can ask mods to move the thread over to MISC..?

Rather than lock I have moved to Misc as this has turned into a discussion rather than a sale thread
