Just had an e-mail confirming that the KDL32V4000 will be available instore from 10am on Boxing Day for £299! Also a 5 yr warranty will be available for £36, this is a follow up to a post that was on here earlier this month, i have done a bit of homework on this and it is one serious piece of kit, all reviews are excellent. The average price for this tv is usually in the £350 - £450 range, this is my first post so be kind!

what you gona do with 1080p on a 32" lcd? unless your using it as a monitor and sit 2 feet from it theres no point of having 1080p on anything less than 40" or 37"

At last some sense spoken!!............Do some people actually know what 1080p is and will
do or is it just because its seen in shops as this has 1080p so you definately need to have it!!:santa:

yh exactly.
people need to know that 1080p has its disadvantages as well. if your watching sd than your better of geting a HD ready Tv rather than a full HD

1080p is rather pointless on a TV screen under 50" in size. You are basically paying for something you cannot honestly appreciate the benefit of.

Seriously, how anyone says they can see the difference between 720p and 1080p on screens around 32" in size (from anything like a normal viewing distance) is beyond me: The screen simply isn't big enough.

Basic rule of thumb for HD Television is this: Under 26" 480p will look no worse than 720p. Screens between 26" and 42" then 720p will look just as good as 1080p. Anything above 42" then yes, 1080p finally becomes something you could actually appreciate.

A lot of people are just buying the hype without realizing 2 things:
1) 1080p is not actually available outside of computers, latest gen consoles and blu-ray/HD/Dvd films - Digital television is and will remain SD for some time, and even the HD services provided by Sky or Virgin don't go up to 1080p and wont do for the foreseeable future).

and 2) Even with a 1080p source the benefit of that (with a television, not a monitor) is entirely dependent on the screens size. If you are getting a monster TV then it's something worth looking for. For a 32" screen it's utterly pointless.
