Censorship? Tell me more :-) I've just spent ages trying to find out about these panels, as i've nothing better to do this evening than investigate rebadging.

I will try to fire the unit up 2 day, although it may go as a PC moniter for a family 'puter.

Am I the only one with no idea what's going on here?

Just fired it up - it smacks of sony thro and thro, although it is not sold as a sony unit - hey, but what do I know? Branded TWF Vision. All the freeview works + 7 day epg - sound surround too + 3 pre set pic modes + user choice. Have not hooked up the components, know little about the HDMI/DV thingies - will let my son hook up a PC to it - my Tosh CRT still out performs it picture wise -

I think it may not have the Bravia engine, I'm intrigued to find out more about the unit. Errrr... it has a Sony type, high quality, brushed Aluminium RC and all the bells and whistles advertised by sony seem to be incorporated, say within last years models, but at nowhere near their price structure given that this was £349.99. Cheap as chips.

My investigations into TWF resulted in the company having ties to a subsidiary of Samsung called DMTech. A section of the Samsung website tucked away seemed to back up the links.

Someone on AVForum claiming to be involved with TWF says the panels are sourced from Philips.

How very interesting - it looks and smells like sony - even the RC is high quality brushed Aluminium of the highest quality. - not like Phil or Sammys? Not that it matters, it is worth every penny - it will now go to a bedroom wall just for the freeview- but why no manufacturers name - anywhere? Thanx MB, the Jury is still out. Anybody out there who can be more conclusive - and point a finger?

Yes, the 26" were gone - 2 left and no more stock on Sunday. Confirmed tho that they had a supply(small) of 32" out the back by a young lady who fetched a RC for me so I could entertain myself with the display model. My guess is couple of doz at the most. Manager explained that they were for instore customers only on the day offered. No idea of price tho'.

here is a rebadged sammy at £499. Do they all rebadge or set up subsidaries to hold up the price +R and D of the branded name. Who else rebadges?

2H Digital Comb Filter
This digital picture filter has a precise function. It makes a comparison of the television picture and separates the colour and informations from the brightness (the values between black & white). Principally, through the performance of the comb filter technology, typical TV picture errors are easily avoided.

Progressive Scan

Three-dimensional analysis eliminates blurring and noise in motion images. Even still images are sharper and clearer. it has a much better resolution and offers a smoother, pure and natural effect eith an excellent performance. The integrated filter device is capable of detecting some bluring noise or disturbing sequences within the picture and can apparently filter them off.
HDTV

High resolution, incomparable clearness, major colours-that promises a higher realism: this standard HD Ready is far superior to the standard television. No wonder no ne lets me out the house often.

This LCD could be a Turkey! Big time.

It is a Nomad - nobody knows where it came from and nobody knows where it is going to.

It is imported by ********** and they will not tell you where from - the only warrenty you have is 12 months(English Law) based upon the till receipt at the time of purchase. After that ********* will sell you an extended warranty looked after by a company called Key Eloctronics based in Halifax - Gr8 if the sets in Cornwall - oh and don't mention there rake off on the poicy. If this was made clear instore they would not shift 1 unit methiks.

In effect, if after 12 months it goes tits up, you bin it if no local guy will touch it. It might be cheap as chips but I aint being made a mug of by anybody. ********* you can have the bloomin thing back. Where is my medicine nursey.

Me, technology and shopping - pass me a roll up. Hope this is useful.

I'm wary of lots of so called budget brands, apparently there are stacks of units such as Techwood which are faulty and can never be repaired as there simply isn't an availability of parts.

People really should take this sort of thing into consideration when buying so called bargain screens.

I would have to recommend Mirai when it comes to a budget brand. I am very happy with my 32" bought a couple of weeks ago. The manufacturer are very approachable by email (and reply in good time) and they provide a decent warranty (which you can register for online).

Agreed. Me I don't do techie things and tend to believe what people in authority inrorm me of. Ought to be a forum for me and others.

Right, after that, 4 no other reason that I dont like the urine extracted - ********** have been shown to be shysters in this instance - me, I'm gullable in techo things. However, this LCD is badged at Tesco under Technosonic - I intend to invite Shitbury's to explain what I was told and sold - they are shockers as a company. Will report back - mmmmmm ....
