Toshiba's are known for having the best standard-def quality. Saying that though, I've got a 46" Sony and the PQ isn't that bad on the freeview channels.

Have samsung improved their viewing angles ? All the samsungs I have look horrid unless viewed exactly from head height.. Look under and they are Very very dark

Toshibas and Panasonics are meant to have the best plasmas, whereas Samsung are meant to have the best LCD screens.
