My son was terrified of swimming even though he passed stage one, we paid for stage 2 lessons and the instructor frightened him by wanting him to dive in the little pool, so he had 2 more lessons and said he didnt want anymore.
so for the last 2 months my hubby's been taking him every Sunday and today he used the water slide by himself about 20 this opens/lands in the deep pool.
then he decided he wanted to dive in and hubby catch him so they did that and then next thing we knew he was off running and dive in with his legs tucked up under him shouting cannon ball!!! never seen my hubby move so fast in all my life..LOL
Lucky the pool was empty and the lifeguard thought it was

so from a lad who was terrified him now want lessons again.
thought i'd share cos im so happy with

Thats great :) I think that knowing how to swim is really important, could actually save your life.
awww hun congrats to your sweet lil man for getting his precious confidence back.

You must be SO proud of him xxxxx

One of the nicest memories I have with my now 15 yr old and taking her swimming right from a tiny baby, we had the pool to ourselves one morning and she'd been swimming around at literally six weeks of age ( natural water baby! ) and I sat with her in the water, the waves bouncing against my chest as I was breastfeeding in the empty pool and just the lifeguard came up and asked how old she was and squatted and chatted to me while my daughter drank her lunch and then slept relaxing in the water... it was lovely xxx
I am, its a start at boosting his confidence and hopefully this will filter through to school, thats another story, which i hope i will get sorted in the morning.
For a child to be terrified like he was it just amazes me how much he has changed in a short time , all thanks to his dad

It's wonderful hun, I can just imagine him cannoning into the water lol!!

Great he isnt scared anymore, its wonderful x x

That's great. Swimming is fab, and could save his life one day. Brave guy, you should be proud he persevered and didn't give up - and proud in yourselves you stuck to it too, it's hard to when children don't enjoy something to still make/encourage them to still do it.
