swap you for a....
oh. there was a post about a week ago from dandoc looking for the cheapest premium, the best one found was £179 and it was from a well-known web retailer, but I cant remember which company.
Im a little confused. You had a 360, upgraded to the premium, and your now wondering if you want a 360?

Id keep the 360 otherwise you will have to pay around another £100 to get the same experience, unless you really wanted blu-ray of course.

I'd sell the games you don't play anymore, then use the money to buy COD4 and an Xbox Live subscription.
You've tried the 360, now try the PS3.

I wish I knew someone who had live so I could see if it lived up to the hype - I guess it must be good, everyone raves about it.

I know the ps3's live service is free, but I've only ever heard bad things about it - anyone here actually use a ps3 online?

Yes, The only thing that's bad is it doesnt have ingame XMB all but seeing as its free - it pays foritself.

No, by the time I sold my 360 core, the amazon premium offer had finished - I now have no console, but a load of 360 games.

Oh I get it now.

You can always buy one now from Amazon and then get the difference back once it goes down in price again. But seeing as you have all your 360 stuff why not stick with a 360. Do you use it often? If you do then you might regret getting a PS3.
found the thread, but on further checking- every company seems to have put up their 360 prices! how does a price drop mean, erm, prices go up???
The PS3 online was great for me- i'm only after a 360 because I want Rez HD enough to buy a console just to play it. I'm def getting another PS3 when Midnight Club LA comes out.

also ingame XMB will be coming to the ps3 in the summer which will be just like the 360.

ive now had a couple of 360's and a ps3 and not really much difference in them, takes a bit of getting used to the ps3 after using a 360 but is quite good.

i am now sticking to my pc for games seems less hassle for me and can get most console games i liked on pc as well.

xbox live is good like i had a lot of fun on it when i had mine, more fun than on the ps3, games seem to be better laid out on live.

If its any consolation you got a great price for your core :)

I would probs stick with the 360 your enjoying it and often tfind that when we later change our minds we regret it!
Teh Amazon claim the difference backs looks like the way forward.

Failing that I believe the prices are going to change on the 14th March so wait until then

I think you're right - nobody has given me a good reason to switch to a ps3, think I'll wait until Thursday and order a premium from amazon.

Dont get me wrong in the future the PS3 will win out due to its advacned technology but the main question is do you want a console for gaming today (Thursday) or one thats going to be great in 18 months (cue abuse).

A console isn't a investment either as soon as you buy it and walk out of the shop your losing money (normally), so when the PS3 becomes a great catalgue by having the games catalogue to support its power and when developers know how to get the most out of it.
Thats when to buy one, it'll be cheaper and you'll get a better deal :)

I only picked up my 360 about 6 months ago but the catalogue of games is very impressive and all (even new ones) are around £20.

That's complete rubbish. The PS2 was the least powerful, and most popular console of last gen.

Personally, I'd prefer the Xbox 360, not just for the games but for the various other little things I use it for.

For example, I've hooked it up via my home network to my desktop PC and stream downloaded and recorded videos, music and photos to my TV via the Ethernet connection and, I know it's been said before, but Xbox Live is fantastic -- it's definitely worth the money I paid.

Don't get me wrong -- the PS3 is a really impressive piece of hardware, but unless you want Blu-Ray (and there are lots of strong hints that Microsoft will be producing some kind of Blu-Ray support for the Xbox 360 in the future), I would go with the Xbox, especially after the recent price cuts made the Premium that much more affordable.

I could do with reading up on streaming media to the 360.
So I can watch films, pics and music through the 360 while the files are saved on my pc????
Can this be done wirelessly (without needing a degree in computer engineering)?

Yeh its very easy to stream most music and movies to the 360 wired or wireless. Its even easier if you use a memory stick plugged into a USB port.
can i connect my 360 straight to my router?

both consoles have their plus's and neg's but if you feel comfortable with the xbox then just buy it when it comes down in price again. i cant be bothered persuading someone to buy a ps3 because its never enough.
can i connect my 360 straight to my router?

yeah via ethernet, or if u have the wireless adapter use that
can i connect my 360 straight to my router?

best get a longer ethernet cable then cause i aint shelling out 50 quid for an adapter, its frustrating enough have wireless internet never cant imagine playing games over my flaky connection
