i took my son last year (he was five at the time) and very few of the activities were suitable for him, most were for older shildren say 9-11.

the place was also very tired, and the pool was very, very tired, but the shows were very good and the location was also good to go exploring.

my son loved it, i was a little disappointed with the accommodation despite paying for an upgrade, and the pool side was overdue an update. But kids are great and don't seem to worry about the things that bother neurotic mothers.

If you do go check out the beach there were guys playing with kites, land surfing etc which amused my little one.

Enjoy whatever you decide.

What have you done ? Do you enjoy sending your family to prison for xmas ? Because thats what it looks like, i'm not joking, I live here, it looks truly awefull. Theres nothing here also, the town is shut.

i used to live in Southport and id say go to Prestatyn sands instead, the buildings are tired and its in the middle of nowhere, you couldnt walk to Southport, well, you could but it would take about 2 hours.
there is a pub near by about a two min walk but thats it
Go to Prestatyn Sands, i went in may and my kids are one and three and there was never a quiet moment, we stayed in club accommodation and it was great, park was excellent and overall id definately recommend it :)

It all comes down to personal opinion, its a lot like the old butlins and yes old fashioned but I didnt mind it as it reminds me of student or low income accomdation and since I come from a poor family its what I am used to.

Its all basically one big circle and nice but not much there apart from a pub, 2 indoor bars(and 1 is closed most of the time) machines and a takeaway and shop and a few things like go karts and a climbing wall.

Southport is a 60-90 minute walk each direction(about 4 miles) theres a small town about half a mile from the site that has a Somerfield and all the take aways you would need and a post office etc.

Like I said its all about personal standards, its more like student digs quality wise for accomodation i.e generally old carpet and plastic chairs.

You do realise that you have to buy electric cards there though?

yes i know about the cards, do you know many i cud need for 2 nights? someone said 1pound a night

Depends, with me and my parents we spent about £1 a day but didnt have things like heating on often though did a lot of cooking so you could buy a few as they refund any unused cards so just buy a handful of about 5 or 6 then only put them in as needed.

And the last 2 times we went we had abiut £3 credit already in so shouldnt be too bad.

Dirt, fleas soiled sheets etc, etc.

Wait and see, I hope they prove me wrong you never know it might have improved?

Thats a personal opinon and often one offs, I think it was Pontins on Watchdog a few years ago(though think other brand things like Haven were shown too) with problems and I remember people on this and other sites complaining back when they had free holiday offers but I have been twice and both times have had spotless rooms and good bedding.

Sometimes things do go wrong, I was at Haven a few years back and had this family with young kids have their kids urinate on the sheets, then one of the parents was hungover and was sick over bedding, they just threw both in the spare room for almost a week when the cleaners came on day they left.

It could just of been a case of the room hadnt been cleaned as there could of been a mix up over rooms that needed done.
