umm I would say if it is from the tax offices they will send you a letter as well not just an email. might be worth phoning them to be sure, best thing to do is to ignore it put it in the spam box of your email, that way you wont get anymore into your inbox

If she's never heard of them then yes, it's spam. Spam it and forget about it. Oh and never ever give your bank details out to anyone.

i dont, unless im buying something, and im always wary of this stuff, but my mum is still quite nieve to online scams

big clue, it's from an AOL address. if it were a valid email it would come from a paid domain name registered by said organisation.

It is spam, I had it and my boss had it. Checked with the tax office and they were aware of the scam

thats what i thought

i take it theres no way to stop this, theres no1 to report it to? some people would actually fall for this, not everyone knows about these kindof scams and you'd think there was some way to and least stop this particular one going round, apart from the usual beware email

How long has she been online? I got shedloads when I first got online, everyone does, just tell her to keep spamming any emails where she doesn't recognise the senders name and eventually it will calm down:thumbsup:
