Here are the dates they state they will strike on. I was wondering how likely they may change?

Really worried our 1st family holiday abroad is going to end up in pieces!

The document calls for strikes on
April 20,21,24,25 and 30,
May 2,14,15,19 and 20,
June 13,23 and 30,
July 1,2,3,4,15 and 21,
and August 1, 15 and 31.

:( its a nightmare time to strike for us wanting to go away, obviously they know they will get more a reaction if they strike during the busy times.

We fly back on the 13th, but at 9pm, so I really hope the 14th date doesn't kick in early!

Im sure they said on breakfast telly this morning that the spanish government were drawing up plans to bring the army in to keep the airports open as they cant afford any more damage to their tourism. I was only on my first cup of coffee so brain was a bit foggy but Im pretty sure they said this.

Hope you are right! Would seem a shame to all the families who have booked during easter holidays too.

Best bet really.

I was telling hubby that they may be looking at pulling in the army to keep the airports running. He said well thats security gone out the window then! I really hope they manage to come to a conclusion quite soon to avoid most of these dates.

I got hit by these strikes last year, I was stuck in Spain for an extra week, all flights for the following days were full.

Did you have to fund the extra week accomodation and another flight?
My only fear is the car booked in the airport parking, how much that would end up at. Plus hubby would miss time off work too, Luckily we are due back on a sat, he doesnt have to be back to work till tues, kind of covers just incase.

Alfonse
drive to Spain then

ooh not a chance with 3 bored kids in my car. Would rather deal with a days strike than ferry and driving :)

No I have my own place in Spain, no extra charge for the new flight.

I managed to get away without paying any additional parking charge at the ( UK ) car park.
