Have been offered a speed awareness course, does anyone know where these have to be taken? Offence was in Northants but live in Manchester so if had to do it in Northampton would probably be better taking the points than lose a days pay.

there are local branches all over the UK to where you live, you choose.
My friend got charged £175 for attending one.

Was told £60, which isn't too bad but if I have to take a whole day off work to travel to Northampton it will cost me over £500 so would be better taking the points

One of our couriers got caught with a similar offence and he had to travel to where the speeding took place. Stupid rule really.

Thats what I feared, if I could do it locally in the evening it would be ok, I've got an otherwise clean licence so 3 points is no big deal, however would have been nice to have kept it clean

How come it will cost you over £500?

My GF had to do one, it took up most the day so you will prob have to take at least half a day off anyways.

If you stand to loose £500 just tae the points.

Not like youre gonna notice the increase on your insurence :p

Am an IT contractor so don't get holiday pay, add £60 for the course to £30 for petrol to Northampton and loss of a days money it comes to well over £500

Due to the way it works at the moment, you can only take the Speed Awareness Course in the county that you got caught in.

I'd take the course even if it cost me £500. Points do not make prizes.
