What's the likelyhood of being caught?
I'm normally really good!
Thanks

There the average speed cameras, and they catch you over the distance of the 1st one and the last i think
suspended#2
there may have not been any film loaded not all cameras have film loaded all the time.

P.s I did try to slow down!

if u where doing 56 / 58 mph u might get a warning over that its points and a fine i did 47 in a 40 and got a warning each area is different
#5
pretty sure you went through an 'average' speed camera, don't think they take into account the actual speed you're doing at that instance, only your average speed as you pass multiple average speed cameras. i'm sure you'll be fine.

Get caught by a speed camera = points + a fine.
They do not send out polite warnings letting you off until next time :whistling:

Op chances are nothing will happen, we have the same cameras
on the M1 here and cars go way above the 50mph limit and
i do not know anyone who has been caught.
With the average speed cameras if you slowed down by the time
of the second one you probably averaged 50mph anyway
( also if you changed lane they do not get you either! )
Key to it is do not worry about it and concentrate on not speeding
again ( saves all this worry! )

Wrong. They changed the cameras a long time ago so even if you do change lanes then you still get the ticket. Also, many areas now send you on a stupid course about the dangers of speed etc, rather then giving you the points. You still get the fine though.
Chances are however you wont hear anything about it. Even if you do, no point in worrying, what is done is done.

Wrong ( well for the cameras here anyway )
Not worth taking the risk though imho like you say
no point in worrying.....( or speeding may i point out to be pc )

The chances are you won't get done... but surely there are worse things to worry about.. worst scenario is a small fine and a couple of points, so what....forget about it.

does anyone know of anybody who has been done by an average speed camera?
Not heard of anyone myself, I think the are false cameras that just scare people.

a new lad at work didnt realise they was average speed cameras near our work and accumilated 36 points in one weekend so yes they are real and do work.....

Unless it flashed you havent got anything

I don't think that it was an average speed camera because the OP said that it was massive ( really tall ) and the average speed cameras are relatively smal usuallyl mounted from a bridge with one camera per lane. These cameras don't flash.
It's more likely to be a GATSO, if so and it didn't flash it should be OK.
