Motorists will be hit with on-the-spot fines for not turning their engines off in a bid to tackle air and noise pollution issues in central London.

Westminster City Council is running a campaign to raise awareness about the environmental and health dangers of vehicle idling.

And from February 4 repeat offenders run the risk of being slapped with a fixed penalty notice (FPN), Get West London reports.

hitting motorists again, another way to raise money to cover the freeze on council tax I bet, they already make millions through cameras. leave us alone, you get enough from us lol

stop/start will
a. produce more pollutants as catalytic convertors will not get hot enough on short journeys
b. cause damage to older engines
..............so you can then sue them for thousands as you pass through as the high court is nearby
