I'm probably a little late to this whole Spotify Family account business so apologies in advance for repeating stuff many of you will probably already know.

I am setting up a Spotify Family account today. It costs £15 per month which then allows six individual accounts as part of the family, in other words £2.50 per month per person. I will be using four of these accounts myself and am therefore looking for a couple of hukd members to fill the remaining two slots.

I'm been on hukd for around 7 years myself, been on eBay since 2002 (pedros_baking) and to keep things simple what I'd like you to do is to pay £2.50 upfront, and once you're happy with everything at the end of the first month then pay the remaining £27.50 for the year. If you want out at the end of month 1, not a problem. We can then forget about this until the end of month 12 when I'll write to you again and ask if you want to opt out or go-again for another year.

Re. other logistics I'll need to PM you my home address - you'll need to use this before linking your account to my 'family' so that it doesn't set off any alarms at Spotify HQ. Hopefully I've covered all the main points but if you do have any questions just let me know!

Thanks Pete

Reading the OP it seems six spaces.

I'd be up for taking a spot. I might even set one up if anyone's interested? I've been here forever and I've also set up a similar HUKD account before for Amazon Prime.

Go for it, reserve me two spots and tell me how much I owe you per month :)

yes six spots in total. So £2.50 p.p per month. Dead straightforward to setup, happy to help answer any questions if needed.

Nice one. If I can get three more people (preferably people who have been around for a while, like yourself) I'll set it up. It'd be the same conditions as searsp; £2.50 per person per month.

cool I'd drop you 5 per month as one is for me and one for the Mrs

Edit: Also do we each get an individual log in? Or is it a shared one?

Edited By: Matty8787 on Dec 20, 2016 17:27: Question.

absolutely an individual login - to all intents and purposes it'll be exactly the same as signing up personally. The only difference is that in the background you're part of a 'family'

Yeah, apologies searsp, I meant to say sorry too but it made sense to try and keep it all to one thread, as others might be interested too. Cheers for posting this.

So we have myself, Matty8787 and Mrs Matty8787, allsa001 (love the HeadCheese avatar by the way!) and furreal.

One more spot left and then I'll drop PM's and start the ball rolling.
#24
Should use this thread for pooling family Spotify spots :p Not sure if Spotify allows this though ?
#25
I'll take a spot if still available
#26
Alright, that's six of us.

Before I send PM's, I want to run something by you all to ensure everyone would be interested still.

I believe searsp was charging everyone for one month and then asking for the rest upfront, which is fine, but I think I'd personally prefer to ask for the full payment of £30 per person up front. I understand this might put some of you off, which again is fine, but I'd hate anyone to drop out at the end of the month and having to find someone else - because if we couldn't find anyone else to take that spot, it'd mean we'd end up paying more.

Additionally, I don't want to be checking for everyone's individual payments every single month and potentially chasing people, it'd be far too much hassle.

Whereas if anything's received up front, we all know where we stand and it's all done and dusted then.

Let me know what you all think.
#27
just to jump in (again), the only reason why I suggested the £2.50 upfront, balance at the end of month 1, was that I wasn't 100% sure how it would work. And I didn't want to hack off a fellow hukd member who'd paid £30 and couldn't access the service.

As it is, the process is a doddle in every respect so what I think is being suggested here makes perfect sense.
#28
Feel free to jump in as much as you like. Ha! You've been a huge help and it's good to have someone who's gone through it all already :)

That makes perfect sense though, I would have done the same otherwise.

I appreciate it might put some off; but I'd be providing you all with my home address, and I'm more than happy to provide my mobile number also, as well as links to my eBay and AVForum profiles where I've been a member for eight or nine years and have 100% feedback on both, basically anything to put your mind at ease with it all.

I'm alright with upfront payment, but for the family plan, is it a minimum commitment of 12 months or is it just 1? My suggestion would be 6 months since 12 is a little long in case anyone wants to drop out, which I'm sure I won't, but if everyone wants to do 12 months, I'll just go with it :)

So £60 for me? Possible I can pay on payday? 30th. I was initially just going to set up a standing order of £5 p/m and then it would never miss. PM me if you wanna discuss more.

I believe it's a minimum of twelve months, in which case I'd have to ask for the full twelve months in advance, only because if everyone else was to drop out after six months (for example) I'd then be left paying the full £14.99 a month.

It's a case of trying to find that balance; obviously I want to make sure everyone's happy with the arrangement, but I also don't want to leave myself open and risk being left out of pocket if people drop out. Likewise, people having to pay more if others do drop out.

It says cancel anytime on the sign up page, so I reckon we should all agree on how many months upfront we should pay?
#33
There is no minimum term, sign up and cancel whenyou want.
#34
I am happy to do 12 months. I'm easy and will just go with what everyone agrees with. Thanks again everyone for bringing this together
#35
I'm happy to go with twelve months also. Although with wanting to receive payment up front, it might be worthwhile and easier doing it over six months initially? See how we get on and then we could always sign up for another six months then?

Yeah I'm happy with either, although 6 months will be more wallet friendly for short term :p

Any closer to getting this up and running, I am in agreement six months initially is the way to go.

Yep, apologies, you're the sixth and final member.

I'll send PM's to everyone; it'll be £15 per person for six months. Once I've received he money off everyone I'll set the account up.

After five months I'll contact everyone to see if you're happy to pay another £15 for a further six months. If anyone wants to drop out at that point that's fine, as it gives us time to find any replacements.
