Hi there.
I'm just trying to understand the concept at the moment, not really interested in doing it.
Is it a good idea?
Cheers

A great idea if you are willing to lose a little whilst doing it, and you don't have too much of an addictive personality!!

Are we talking about financial spread betting or sport

.....taken from a advert in a money mag.

Spread betting is a leveraged product. It carries a HIGH level of risk to your capital and, as it is possible to lose more than your initial investment, it may not be suitable for all investors.

Sleep on it, as in go out and sleep in a cardboard box tonight and consider whether it would be worth losing everything.

Oh yeah, have someone reposess the cardboard box half way through the night, that'll make it more realistic! Is it snowing where you are by chance?

Like with all betting do it on paper (what you would have staked etc) with no money involved for a month say. At the end of the 'virtual ' month see how you would have done.

And if you've done well, still put it down to luck!

Its part of why trading losses can be so HUGE. Professionals attempt to hedge one loss against another. It is all a complete gamble.

Professional spread betters set a stop loss and stick to it as they realise that capital management is the key.
