Standard HD vs SSD vs hybrid HD

Seagate have released the momentus XT drive. It's a 7200rpm 2.5" sata drive with a adaptive 4gb SLC SSD drive built in. The 500gb drive should be about £100 (it's $130 at newegg) so only about £40 more than the equivalent standard 2.5" 7200rpm notebook drive.

See video in first post.

Nonsense.

The test used the ssd part of the drive only.

They can't count either. It's time coded as well :lol

Well this may well be, but it just goes to prove that it is useful in real world usage. How often do you want to load more than that many applications in one go?

HD = high definition.
HDD = hard disk drive.

Yes, but who gives a ****? Everyone knows what he meant. You're just being needlessly pedantic.

But I didn't put just HD did I. I put standard HD as in standard hard drive. How often do you say standard hard disk drive.:roll:

Besides it's not the point of the thread. It was to discuss the technology being used.:)

Normally I would agree with you but sometimes the details are quite important to make the distinction.
