can you not take him back for a refit? You only bought yesterday.

Have they left a mark on his feet where rubbing? You should take them back to the store if they have because they shouldn't hurt his feet - and certainly not at the price they charge. Happened to my wee one with sandals last year and they changed them no problem becaues there was glue and stitching on the inside which wasn't smooth.

Well when he tried them on he said they rubbed slightly in the shop but they just didnt seem tight so the assistant said where them round the house and any probs u can fetch them back so i was going to take them back and try start rite but no idea what their quality of shoes r like

I only ever bought one pair of startrite about 10 years ago for eldest daughter. They were great quality and had no problems with them at all but they were more expensive than Clarks and found they didn't have a lot of choice for girls (none she would wear anyway because they were a bit old fashioned). See what the shop says - I'm sure they'll help with the fact that the shoes rub and if they're getting a more expensive sale then there shouldn't be a problem.

I had the same problem about 5 years ago a a pair of shoes rubbing on the top of my 5 year olds foot. He had worn them for his first day at school so they had been worn outside.
I took him back clarks and they were very good, said the style which was a bit like a small boot obviously didn't suit his foot and they changed them no problem. Even apologised that he had had problems.

Start Rite are just an expensive alternative to Clarks. In my opinion they are no better but you pay a premium all the same and lets be fair, you're paying a premium for Clarks already. Saying that if you can't get these shoes you to like to fit without discomfort and the next size up is inappropriate in other ways then your only alternative is Start Rite.

I like startrite better, but its due to my kids having narrow feet. Startrite styles are not great though, you don't have as much choice as Clarks.
