offer to pick up essentials for elderly /ill/disabled neighbours when you go for your own shopping, if it's the company they will miss by staying home put the kettle on and chat over coffee and biscuits.

InB4 build a Fallout shelter

Like it says in the NHS link it is one thing to save money but being cold will make you ill
as will living in a damp home

keep a supply of salt handy for icy paths you could even do the pavement outside your home
same goes for something to clear away any snow

Think I uninstalled Fallout Shelter

Putting the heating on is always a good idea, why is it so hard to make old people do that? Failing that, slippers are helpful. Extremities are vulnerable.

I know, and they get the winter fuel allowance too, I think they are so used to saving, many of them had parents from the war years, I do remember some of my Nanas saving ways

Don't you find they are all much the same price anyway ?
most people(here anyway) are probably already on the cheapest
the only real reason to change is because your fixe has come to an end
and the only saving to be made switching supplier is via cashback

I believe that the majority of the country have NEVER changed energy suppliers resulting in them still being on the
"standard tariff ".

Yes well that is what everyone says is it true any more ?
I don't know it is just so many people including this website now seem to have a vested interest in you switching supplier
might be better for some to stick so they can keep a closer eye on what they use ?

Unfortunately no company has to tell you that you are giving the too much money inc banks etc.......
Any tariff is better than standard .

Hot water bottles might be old fashioned but still the best thing to have in bed on ice cold winter nights like these. ;)

Unfortunately, prices are going through the roof at the moment, but Home Bargains and B&M still haven't raised theirs yet - £1.99, or £3.99 for woolen covered ones, best grab one or two before they join the others in raising prices. Hope this helps <3

Shock horror, it's forecast to get a bit colder, who'd have believed it in late November?

Luke Mial, a forecaster for the Met Office, said it was “time to start wrapping up” for winter. “Temperatures will struggle to hit single figures and clear skies will mean quite a cold night and possibly the coldest of the autumn so far in England and Wales,”

Start panic buying everyone!! oO
