Essentially, years ago, certain states in America sterilised part of its community for being, among others, gay, feeble minded, on welfare, mentally ill or suffering from epilepsy. The reason being they would not be able to bring children of 'worthyness' into the world.
In the state of North Carolina, they could get compensation of just $20,000. Do you think it was a good idea in its day but outdated now? Is $20,000 enough? What else could the state do to compensate these people?
