Thought about that but wasn't sure if it'd do damage to the inside.

I usually reserve the ole WD40 for the gate and shed padlock.

seriously just open it up and clean it all out, thats what i usually do with my sony controllers

Should have asked this during the day when i might have gotten a more sensible response!!

If you don't want to open it then, wd40 is electrically safe as far as i know, just don't use too much.
