not being funny but people that loan shark will do alot more than hit you he sounds unreasonable but you should of never bothered and my advice is dont go to the police coz if you do it may result in broken bones. do you know someone handy that can warn him?
#10

So they are loan sharks then? I would tell the police and if you can afford it, invest in some basic CCTV.

CCTV aint gonna be much help when they break his door down and give him a beating!

If they are right nutters just move! :-D
#12
If lend you the £100 to pay them will you give me back £180?

Seriously, you will have to stand up to them or they will keep wanting more.
banned#13
cant go to the cops coz they'll beat me up big time.

They pray on the fact that people are to scared to go to the police. If needs be ask the police to help you get an injunction. If they think there is that much of a danger, they will install panic alarms for you. It's a criminal offence, one day you won't have that £100 and what then.......................
Op made a mistake as soon as they took the loan granted, but anything can happen anyway now he is involved, nothing to loose in going to the police.

seriously know what these people are like and the police come to that once had someone threaten to burn my house down and went to the cops myself and they said they couldnt do anything until he had done something which in my eyes is not enough. they will not install panic alarms on demand until you have suffered from the guy enough for them to think you need them installed.

i know mate that is what i am saying. do you know anyone handy to warn them off i know it isnt right but sometimes it has to be done.
#17
I would report it to the cops.

They most likely won't do anything - but it might help in future that there is some record of what is going on. Have you got a community office?

My brother was being bothered by a group some years back - for more than a year. They kept picking fights, and even started going to his workplace to get to him! One day when my brother was walking his girlfriend home, the yobs started on them, and so my brother punched out in defence breaking one of their noses!

They went straight to the cops and my brother got a nice conviction for ABH for one single punch after year + of abuse by them.

Point is my brother had never recorded a complaint against them, and so there was nothing to back up his case!

I wish you luck - I don't envy you

Well yes it won't stop the beating, but it will be evidence! These people are not stupid, they know people will not go to the police through fear, if they did they would be in the ****.

They will most likely nick the cctv and recording stuff as payment, then give him another beating for taping them
#19
Do you have a dog? Not that I am suggesting to let it lose - just that they are great defenders of the home!

it is that simple, you either carry on paying them or stand up to them, im assuming that he is paying them to not beat him up
#25

Well in all serious what advice did he expect? Maybe I am naive but I would not expect a lot of people on here have "gangland" dealings with loan sharks?
Should we all be recommending people we can send round to "sort him out".

Exactly - first sensible advice yet...

If you agreed to pay some hard men back a sum of money, I'd imagine it's in your best interests to pay them it back.

not from my dealings in the past yes it could be that simple if you want to look at it that way but just how dangerous are these people you know he could do it your way but could end up lying in a morgue.

and going to the police will do what? naff all, im still a little confused to if the op has actually paid the money he borrowed back,
#28
OP - can you be a bit clearer please:

Do they have proof that you borrowed the £1000? (Did you sign anything?)
Is £1800 the amount you originally agreed with them to pay back?
Have you paid back the whole £1800?
If so, do you have any proof that you paid back £1800? (Any receipts?)

Were you late with any payments?
Do they have any reason to think you still owe them money (eg being late with a payment meaning extra interest)?
Do they actually accept that the original loan has been repaid?

How much have you paid them in total now including any extra £100 monthly payments?

i know still waiting for the op to tell me how dangerous they are! the police never do anything. all i can think of if he has paid the money back is he is using him as a meal ticket and obviously knows this bloke is scared of him either that or he has been late with payments and he has put the loan up each time but hey if the op doesnt tell us we will never know.

i know people like this aint nice, but something dont sound right here

Bullets should stop them quite effectively. You can buy a gun for around £500, which is only five months worth of extortion money. Come that sixth month you'll have broken even, an if the guys treat you like that, they'll probably have loads of enemies, so the police won't suspect a feeble little wimp like you.

look one of my own experences we bought a van from someone about 7 years ago 6 months after we had the van the bloke came back to us wanting more money and my partner told him where to go. anyway phone calls started of some well known hard man saying it was his job and if he had to come around and break my kids arms and legs he would. you imagine that i s**t it big time i slept with a pickaxe handle under my bed it was that bad. anyway there was no way he was going to get the better of us so we send someone down to his house with a warning and no it made no difference at all. in the end when it got really heavy we had someone offer to kill him but there was no way we were getting that far involved! so the bloke let slip a name of a bloke that was going to sort my partner out and we asked everyone if they knew of him and we got told not to mess with him so on a last ditch attempt my partner rang his auntie who lives in the same area as this bloke and we found out that the fella she was seeing it was his son WELL it was sorted the other bloke was told to leave it well alone and if he didnt he would suffer him self.

That's what I thought, he is not online as Mum as called him for tea.

well I used to be a troll hunter on this site, he has just joined today, and has made threads a joke thread about cakes which a low rank member would not do when they first join.

his/her posts have hardly been detailed either.
