From months on HUKD, I've discovered SIX online cashback opportunities - via either a SmartPhone App or an Internet website - for uploading your in-store receipt having shopped at the big 5+ supermarkets (and some others) and I wanted to share and collate ideas about them:

- Shopitize App

- Topcashback's App's "Groceries" (replaces "Snap & Save")

- Quidco's ClickSnap App &/or Internet website

- CheckoutSmart App &/or Internet website

- MySupermarkat App (& Internet website)

- **** App

The first 5 are detailed below with some ideas of their timetables/pros/cons... - I'll add **** in as I start using it meanwhile just Google it (Sep 16)...

NB: I have no link whatsoever with any of the services, I'm just another Jo Public looking for HUKDs...

I have added this to Misc here so anyone spotting & posting a HUKD exploiting these in-store receipt cashback sites won´t need to explain to everyone about the sites, but can just include a link to here for people to discover about them

[Updated 5/10/16] These sites offer you £ cashback - from just 1p to 100% multi-£ back - in return for you uploading an image of your in-store*** shopping receipt - usually showing you bought a specific product but sometimes just for spending a certain amount at particular retailers.

All include the "Big 5" - ASDA, Morrisons, Sainsbury's***, Tesco, & Waitrose, ("AMSTW") - but then other stores vary but include The Co-Op & in CheckoutSmart's case about 35 other chains/brands!

[*** Sainsbury's : several HUKDers have reported their on-line shopping delivery receipts are very similar to in-store receipts and hence most £back systems accept them.]

Some include an Internet website opportunity to upload receipts (eg from your scanner), and/else have SmartPhone Apps to use its camera.

The period £back offers run for varies a lot, but tends to be for a week or two, though occasionally may be 24-48hrs for a 'hot' offer - watch out for 'Limited' offers!

The period of time after purchase that you have to snap your receipt and claim your £back varies, but as a general rule it's safest to do it SAME DAY until you study the rules of your favourite £back Apps/sites to know their rules!

With these 6 opportunities that I know of, you MAY legitimately submit a receipt to multiple sites, as long as you meet the £back criteria for each site's offer(s) - the exception being Quidco's ClickSnap & CheckoutSmart which are associated & their rules (& computers) do not allow a single receipt to be used for claims on both sites!.

Once your receipt/claim has been validated (which takes from a few mins to a few days), the sites typically accumulate your earned cashback until some threshold is reached - see below.

Remember that like all online £back, until you have £ in your bank account/hands it's all just wishful thinking. That said I've successfully pocketed £400+ back from the sites since 2015.

11/6/15: Here's a table summarising 4 current opportunities and highlighting what I think are the significant differences between them [please ignore TCB's S&S & await TCB Groceries & ****].
http://i.imgur.com/aybYRgE.png

# 1) SHOPITIZE SmartPhone App (only, no web version) - this app requires you to scan the actual product barcode (always worth doing IN the store to be SURE you have the qualifying product) - and is independent of all others (though their software is also used to provide TCB's Groceries offers - see below).

Stores: Currently only AMSTW + Co-Op : though you need to apply filter - ie tap 'Select Offers' at top to select your intended store to check offers available there.

I've put this one first as they tend to do fresh offers every week - on Wednesday - and to include an offer nearly everyone could use - ie typically 25p back on 4pts of milk; and usually confirm your £back within a few minutes. Even better a user named 'KiKai' on here regularly posts not only a list of the fresh deals but also which of the valid supermarkets has the cashback item at the best price(s)!.

When it says "you have 'n' days" it means beyond the current day; it'll say hours on the last day of validity and you need to submit your receipt by then or miss out.

http://www.shopitize.com/

£back builds up in App & you can request payout to your bank a/c normally once it reaches £4+. Payout via PayPal is pointless if hit by fees!

Offers usually run for a week from Wednesdays. They used to publish voucher codes on Thursdays on Facebook but seldom do it nowadays.
https://www.facebook.com/Shopitize

Confirmation (or otherwise) of receipt submission & £back awards appears on your phone, usually within a few minutes. Do watch out for any "red !" alert eg when receipt hasn't been automatically recognised & needs re-snapping & then putting into "Review" for manual confirmation.

Their July 2015 update to the App added some new features though they are very seldom used nowadays:
http://www.hotukdeals.com/misc/store-receipt-cashback-shopitize-topcashback-s-snap-save-quidco-s-clicksnap-checkoutsmart-2133228?p=25668679

#2) TOPCASHBACK's APP "Groceries, powered by Shopitize" - ie new Sep/Oct 2016+
(Was "Snap & Save" on App & website but that has not been retired & replaced by the Groceries offers)

Stores: each Offer shows "Available Retailers" ie the big 5 + Co-Op as far as I can spot so far.

The offers are now powered by software from Shopitize and hence anyone familiar with Shopitize will understand TCB's Groceries, though it appears the offers are entirely independent though also run from Wednesday for a week.
You can submit claims to both Shopitize & TCB Groceries where you have different valid items on the receipt - but the T&C's don't allow it for "identical offers" on both - ie you can't double dip on one receipt [ie you should buy/claim the offer on two different receipts]. T&C's are listed out at
https://www.topcashback.co.uk/Dyn/groceries-terms

£back goes into your personal TopCashBack a/c to get paid out as you select. Hence you can put your shopping £back towards whatever works best for you.

[b]#3) QUIDCO's CLICKSNAP
(online + App) [associate of CheckoutSmart]

Stores: AMSTW plus Aldi, Lidl

Everyone with a Quidco a/c can use the Quidco website ClickSnap section to claim £back on in-store receipts, and the offers tend to be quite long term, lasting for weeks, sometimes months and often allowing multiple redemptions over the period, see

https://www.quidco.com/clicksnap/offers/instore/
(note ClickSnap also offers £back for online shopping!)

Offers tend to be a sub-set of those on the CheckoutSmart app [see #4 below], but being part of Quidco’s offering all your £back goes into your personal Quidco a/c to get paid out as your select – ie without any need to build up £5/£20, and with usual Quidco bonus %.

As an alternative to the website, there is an App but it has a slight ‘gotcha’ feature as it does NOT count down when you have already claimed an offer, although if you look online at the Quidco site you will see “Redeem ‘X’ times” left.

Confirmation of upload of receipt will show up on your Quidco online a/c activity, on the ClickSnap tab. Fixed amount awards typically get confirmed within a day and show as such on the website & via an email notification ('free' items seem to take a bit longer) - ie all the follow up processing of the claim in within your online Internet Quidco a/c, not on the App.

#4) CHECKOUTSMART (App only). [associate of ClickSnap]

http://www.checkoutsmart.com/

£back builds up in App can be paid out once you reach £5 with 5% deduction, or saved up until £20+ with no deduction.

Stores: Usual AMSTW plus dozens of others, though offers often apply only to certain chains, so always check/filter to be sure the offer applies at your store!

Also watch out for the "BUY #" on the right under the £back - that specifies how many of the product need to be on your receipt for the claim to be valid - while it will usually be set at the obvious "Buy 1" occasionally it will say more - eg "BUY 3" ie have to buy 3 to get the single £back amount. Occasionally the offer text also goes on to say must buy EXACTLY that number on the receipt so always read the offer in full.

NB: As Quidco ClickSnap & CheckoutSmart [& some TCB S&S] are associated they do NOT allow you to claim on a single receipt at both sites, and many offers are simply duplicated across the two.

They frequently offer a token 1p for upload of any receipt from the stores they cover, & that also enters you in a £ prize draw (one prize winner over the period the offer runs for)..

#5) MYSUPERMARKET MOBILE APP

Emphasis is on online shopping, but App offers a handful of cashback items most months.

http://www.mysupermarket.co.uk/CleanContent/landingpages/LandingPage/MobileLandingPage

Stores: AMSTW plus Aldi Boots Iceland Ocado Poundland SuperDrug

Their "Exclusive Cashback Vouchers" [really cashback OFFERS, not "vouchers"] are best read about generally on their website at:
http://www.mysupermarket.co.uk/shelf/Cashback

Offers have tended to be few & far between in 2016 - see Post #32 later in this thread for a worked example of how to claim in the mySupermarket App [which is rather comvoluted!]

#6 **** App
The most recent addition to the £back for in-store purchases. [Thanks Juggler1 etc].

Thanks - I had contributed this in the past to the regular Shopitize deals postings but they've been 'Spammed' so thought it best to put in one place. If you have any ideas to help novices or tips/tricks I've overlooked speak up and I'll endeavour to revise the summary #1 posting to keep it topical [though I shall avoid specific live deals].

These are sites that offer you £ cashback - from just 1 pence to 100% multi-pound back - in return for you uploading an image of your in-store shopping receipt - usually showing you bought a specific product but sometimes just for spending a certain amount at particular retailers.
.......etc
Mysupermarket app was the only one that was hard to use for in-store cashback. Your guide made it easy and having had the app on my phone for weeks, I can at last start to use it.
Thanks :3

Wongy's cashback ratings :)

Shopitize 6.5/10
Some good offers but I find it a faff to take the photos on my phone also don't half feel a right plonker scanning stuff in the supermarket also I wouldn't give them my BACS details so even the freebies are not free
Topcashback Snap & Save 5/10
Also been around for a few years the occasional freebie but generally the offers are poor.Unlike clicksnap has not been made more user friendly
MySupermarket N/A
Only used it once no problem

Was looking for kikai's post to make some purchases and find she's banned .. Why suddenly ?? I used to find her post very very useful !!
Is there anyway I can see the old shopitize thread anymore or has it all been removed ?

A quick note discussion of suspended or banned members is not allowed and could get you suspended or banned

To help anyone unfamiliar with the cashback sites for sharing your in-store receipts, I did a summary of all five, including CheckoutSmart and the associated Quidco ClickSnap here on HUKD at:

Kikais is back I seen her post, her posts are very good. I owe it to her for shoptize, she made it very simple to understand.

I have yet to see a single cashback deal on the mysupermarket app. Are they doing cashback from instore shops still or am I missing something?

2015 seems to be very slim pickings indeed on mySupermarket app - still "Cashback Vouchers (0)" at both Waitrose and Tesco here. In Autumn 2014 there were some (brief) 100% opportunities, later 50%/20%/10%... Can but hope for future (good) offers.

Thanks for this posting mk-donald. Been a bit 'out' of deals for a little while, this post will always certainly get me back in and posting when I see deals in store myself. £200/9 Months, circa £270 /year is pretty good for not much effort. Currently I'm on TBC and Quidco, but not for any of the 5 apps so this starter guide should get me going.

It's also worth pointing out that you can get cash back after your Sainsburys delivery because the receipt is basically the same as a instore one and does go through to get your cash back with the likes of shopitize , clicksnap etc

Many thanks MKD, I've been popping onto this thread and having another read every now and again- keep spotting things I hasn't before. Thanks for the heads up re going onto quidco main site to see if/ how many times I'd redeemed an offer- I'd missed that on prev reads. Very helpful:)

Oh, and btw, I always have cashback by BACS. People are cautious about it. Firstly, I like to see my ' shopping cashback running total' on my online banking, but also, I have this in my work- people not wanting to give bank- account name, s/code and acc number- I remind them that it wasn't that many years ago, when everyone paid by cheque, that every time someone paid by cheque, they were showing these same details:)

A NARRATIVE SUMMARY OF WHEN YOU HAVE TO UPLOAD/SUBMIT YOUR RECEIPT CLAIM BY:

a summary as at 26Mar15:

It can get very confusing for a new in-store receipt snapper as the 5 known sites vary in their deadlines after purchase... so the best policy is always to submit ASAP, and ...

a FAIL-SAFE POLICY = CLAIM/UPLOAD THE RECEIPT ON THE DAY OF PURCHASE

Shopitize require you to submit a receipt while the purchase offer is still valid - ie by the last date you could be buying the product afresh to claim the offer. The good thing about Shopitize is that MOST offers (but not 100%) run for one week from a Wed to a Tuesday, so typically next Tuesday = deadline for submitting receipts from over the week.

Special Shopitize voucher codes (as published on their Facebook page most Thursdays & very conveniently normally reported by KiKai here on HUKD - together with analysis of where best to exploit the codes) will only become a claimable offer once you input the voucher code to your App, and will run to the published date - ie nearly always to the next Tuesday, but if my memory is right occasionally they have had a 24-48hr validity period, so be sure to check published offer and submit receipt on time.

The Shopitize App is rather good at reminding you with the "you have # [complete] days"... once it gets down to "## hours" you know it's the last day for the offer!

TopcashBack's Snap&Save is the same - ie have to submit while the purchase offer is still valid, but they have the complexities of (a) every offer has to be claimed individually; (b) only one image can be uploaded!

CheckoutSmart allows you to claim on day+6 of purchase, even if the purchase offer has expired by then, ie today Thu 26 you can submit a receipt back 6 days to Fri 20th - and when you do a claim it'll show the offers available to have purchased back on your receipt from that date.

Quidco ClickSnap's (associated with COS!) is almost the same as CheckoutSmart but for some reason extends the claim period by one day - ie allows you to claim day+7 of purchase - so today Thu 26 you can submit a receipt from back 7 days to Thu 19th.

mySupermarket - it's been so long since I found a claimable item that I've forgotten its limits. Can definitely make individual claims on the day - and historically they paid my PayPal a/c very promptly.

PS: Then there are EXTRA COMPLEXITIES that some sites will only allow you to submit a certain number of receipts for a particular date (eg 3 for CheckoutSmart) and/or will only allow you to submit a certain number of receipt during a day (no matter what date they are from). So where possible just do them as soon as you have time.

Op, I know you've explained this a gazillion times. Thank you for that, and your tenacity and patience, but I bought 3x2 volvic waters today, was too busy/ tired to upload receipts.. Just tried and the offer had disappeared from clicksnap!! Remembered your saying go to receipt upload.. Nothing there!! Remembered your saying go to quidco desktop site, did that-not showing! Was kicking myself for not being organised earlier in the day.. But also recall your saying I have a few days AFTER the offer finishes to upload receipts...? ...Then tried clicking ' instore', receipt upload- it worked!! Sending big thanks to you- if it wasn't for this thread, I'd have given up when I saw it'd gone from the app! Got a result there- am well pleased--I'm getting there..s-l-o-w-l-y. Lol:)

OP, please can you help me re COS? I missed the seabrook crisps being £1 at sainsburys last week, and was thinking of buying in asda, before the COS offer ends.. The crisps are 2 for £2 at asda, and the deal is 'redeem 3 times'. My question is- can I submit same receipt twice to COS? Cos there's 2 eligible items on it? Sorry if it's a daft / obvious question. If I can only submit once, so effectively get 15p a pack cashback, I'll still buy, as my kids like these for their school lunches:) thanks

When you submit a receipt you are asked to select which offers (& also how many redemptions - it defaults to 1) you want to claim on - so just select the multiple offers (& multiple redemptions) the receipt meets the criteria for.

On one occasion I recall overlooking an offer that was on a receipt I'd submitted so I just emailed them (I forget which site) to say that I'd made an oversight and could they please add the 2nd item claim - and they did :)

Wow- oh ye, that bar with the number of redemptions!! I'd never thought of that! That's brilliant! Thanks so much for reply:) lol, something else I've learnt:) and yes,I've found COS customer service really good, on the odd occasion something has been missed:) thanks again.

Can't you buy all items on app, Shopitize them and then refund them and get like £15 of paypal cash???

28/4/15: CheckoutSmart have added loads of extra stores - though of course you have to check which offers (if any!) are valid at that particular store:
"local shops": Spar, Budgens, Nisa, Londis, One Stop
"fuel stops": BP, Shell, Esso
"high street": Boots, Superdrug, WH Smith and Wilkinsons.
"more supermarkets": M&S, Farmfoods, Booths & Netto
"speciality stores": Bargain Booze and Pets at Home.
and plenty more - so do check your App for (any) live offers!

However their linked Quidco ClickSnap has stuck (for now?) to the main big 5 AMSTW + Aldi/Lidl.

I hope 1 day they add home bargains to the list and then we get things dirt cheap

Well they added "B&M Bargains" which is getting close as well as Farmfoods, Heron Foods, Savers and even Netto so really are going for broke - though have to filter & check precisely which items at which stores!

I'm always getting confused between B&M with their "B&M Home Store" and Home Bargains as it is - ie just when reading the name rather than seeing the logo/colours and remembering which stores' where [we're getting a new Home Bargains in Bletchley next month].

MySupermarket Android App Cashback Claims
===============================================
25/8/15: Found how to do claims again... (Still working like this Dec 15)...

The MySupermarket App typically has a few offers (though they vary by store), but the App can be very difficult to navigate so here's a worked example (which well illustrates why it's about 20x more complex than Shopitize for example) - this is based on latest v3.2.3 Android App as at 25/8/15:

This is how it (probably) works:
1. Launch the mySupermarket App (ideally while on WiFi Internet)
2. To choose a supermarket - say Tesco - tap the current retailer logo at bottom left of screen
3. Should see a list of store logos, so tap the logo of the required store - say Tesco
4. Once required store logo updates at bottom left, tap the 'Categories' button near top left...
5. On the Browse display, tap the Offers menu item
6. On the Offers display, tap the Cashback Vouchers menu item
7. Should then see a list of available 'Cashback Vouchers' at the store - eg 4 spirits at Tesco at the time of typing this
8. Spot the item you plan to purchase - eg Disaranno Amaretto - and tap its "+" symbol
9. That will automatically add ONE of that item to your shopping list - ie see "1" in circle over list icon at top right of screen
10. Tap that "1" circle over list icon at top right of screen
11. That then shows the "My List" with a picture of the item and an empty check box at its top left; at the bottom of the screen you should see the "£X.xx Cashback" under your total spend you'll be earning
12. Tap that check-box at item's top left to get a big green TICK showing
13. Tap Android's Menu key - and in the menu that pops up tap 'Snap Receipt'
14. In the pop-up dialog tap 'Redeem Cashback'
15. In the 'Redeem Cashback' display, tap the camera icon to take first photo of your receipt
16. As you take a pic ensure it is clear & in-focus and tap the TICK to accept it
17. That should return you to the Redeem Cashback page, and if necessary you can take additional snaps (4 in total I think) in the same way
18. Finally tap the SEND button to submit your claim.
19. You should receive an email confirming cashback and telling you the actual amount due [though not the actual claim made] and saying you'll get it paid to your PayPal a/c within 30 days.
20. Await payment to PayPal account [I think payout has been noticeably within those 30 days but I've made few claims].

(Haven't found anything worth claiming for many months here, but historically I found claims paid promptly without any hassle.)

Wow, thanks for that MKD! I've managed to get cashback from mysupermarket once.. Lol, more by default than design, clicking on everything, and doubted I'd ever manage it again! Ye, you're right- it's no shopitize! Brilliant step-by-step explanation:)

Silly question, but do any of these accept online shopping except sainsburys as mentioned? Thanks

I've just focussed on in-store receipts here (and mentioned feedback re Sainsbury's online receipts appearing like in-store as you raise), but if you look at Quidco's ClickSnap site they also provide cashback for placing orders online via them (and even have extra offers eg for Ocado which is only online), and potentially mySupermarket for their few offers too but I haven't followed that thru at all..

Update: Facebook from CoS: "CheckoutSmart 12 May at 07:30 · Now earn online! From today, CheckoutSmart members can earn rewards at all major online supermarkets: Tesco.com, Sainsburys.com, Asda.com, Morrisons.com, Ocado.com and Waitrose.com! Just complete your online shop as usual and upload a photo of your delivery note via the CheckoutSmart app to claim your rewards."

July/Aug 2015 mini update:

SHOPITIZE have updated their App and added some new features:

Multiredemption offers with a red # at top of offer picture
https://shopitize.desk.com/customer/portal/articles/2075312-how-to-redeem-multi-redemption-offers
Have to understand they do NOT allow you to benefit from any particular store's multi-buy savings (eg BOGOF) as each claim has to be on a separate receipt :(
Not sure why the number is in RED, as RED in the next offer means danger/risk, but here means at least one extra bonus redemption is also available!

Capped offers with a green/red progress bar under the offer picture
https://shopitize.desk.com/customer/portal/articles/2075326-how-to-redeem-a-capped-offer
This goes on to say "Ensure that you upload your receipt straight away. Otherwise, we cannot ensure that you will earn your reward."
This seems sharp practice to me as you have no guarantee that even one minute later you will be able to claim (though clearly 'being in the low single digits in red' would indicate a risk).
This contrasts with recent practice from CheckoutSmart/QuidcoClickSnap who have offered 100% cashback for major items - eg £2-3 fish/pasta dishes - and where they realised they were running short of redemptions and wanted to close an offer early, they did allow redemptions up to the DAY when they closed it (early), not a MINUTE! (Still iffy practice from CoS/QCS as they were NOT up front about their offer being subject to capping or that offer MIGHT end earlier than advertised.)

And Companion Offers where you have to buy different products together on the same receipt, ie have to buy A+B to get the reward. (As with all these offers always best to try to scan the barcode as you add to your basket to be sure you have a valid product!)
https://shopitize.desk.com/customer/portal/articles/2090450-how-to-redeem-a-companion-offer

Anyway at least the gift horse's mouth has something in it :)

16 Sep 15:
This week most of the Shopitize offers are capped!.
A few people occasionally report the latest App is only offering them PayPal withdrawals (which have a deduction), and not a choice between PayPal and BACS (ie without deduction). There are reports that logging out of the App, and logging back in - ie remembering your email/password solves that bug. Otherwise contact Shopitize as both payment methods remain available.
