Had a strange call from British Gas today, went something like this:
BG: Hi there. it's British Gas
BG: You've been with British Gas quite a long time now haven't you?
Me: If you say so
BG: Well, you have, haven't you?
Me: If you say so, you've got the info on your system.
BG: I can only get your info up if you've been with British Gas for quite some time
Me: Right, what am I meant to do then? How can I make myself be with British Gas for a long time so that you can get my info up?
BG: Hangs up.
Now I was being a little awkward as I like to think that if they're saying something like I've been with them for a long time then they've had the decency to check that's true first. But why do they say they can only look at my details if I've been with them for a long time? What exactly is a long time?
I guess they were trying to offer me something (an expensive capped service?) as a reward for being with them for a long time, 2 months now I should add!!!! Why the weirdness and why hang up on me?
