I use transcode360 through media center

I use video cleaner pro to reencode things. Just haven't got round to trying TVersity. Would probably save me some time.Any problems with stuttering?

I have just installed TVersity. Like you my Xbox can see all the files I've put in the video folder. However when I try and start playing them it seems to try to do something then says connection lost or format not recognised. At the same time Tversity crashes and comes up with an error message on my P.C.

Seems like the same problem. Thought i was going to get it up and running in 10 minutes too.:x

Try to install latest version of Java (or was it .NET? can't recall). I had the same problem using TVersity with DSM-320

Have you installed the required components, including the xbox patch?

hi
you need to turn off windows media player's inbuilt sharing

if the file isnt a wmv you need to load it in tversity first before it will show
#12
Right I think I am going to give up on this software. I have disabled my media connector. I have installed the 360 patch, I have installed ffdshow and fvsplitter. The files are there to see on my Xbox 360 under tversity. It just won't play them. Seems to try for 30 seconds or so then says lost connection. All my files are xvid and they play fine on my pc.

Getting a laptop next week with WMC, so will probably just use that with transcode360.

This software is too fiddly. :x

When you say load it in Tversity, do you mean put it in the folder for sharing or actually launch it in Tversity before it will play on the 360?

got mine to work partially
wont play avi's but is playing mpgs and wmv's

I will not let it beat me.

Updated the Java and switched off sharing in Media Player 11
Many thanks

Any suggestions on the AVI issue appreciated.

I can't honestly think why some people have trouble with it...

My files are on a seperate partition to the installed program and with just TVersity & Patches installed, Windows Media turned off, it works perfect with any file (apart from VOB).
#16
yes, yes, yes, MrTooTough does it again !!!
I've managed to sort it !!!
Many thanks to all who helped.

Not that I will ever use it, but hey, I now have the power !!!

So you got it playing avis then? Whats the secret. Mine will play WMV files too, but thats pointless as WMP 11 will do that already.

switched off WMP file sharing, updated java and installed ffdshow

was only when I installed ffdshow that the avi's worked.

Good Luck

why dont people use transcode360? never had a problem with it, no stuttering either
#20
what you need to remember with TVersity is that when you have the file in the sharing section of the program and you want to play it on your Xbox 360 you must have the source file in the same folder you copied it from or the disk must be in the same drive you copied it from and it should work...i did that and it worked...first try using music and if it is able to stream tehn re install the program again.

These are the steps i did:

1.) Install Tversity
2.) Switch off the windows Firewall (or allow the firewall to allow the program ) <<<< 3.) Allow the router to make contact with it (if you have a wireless router)
4.)Have the source file/folder in the same spot you had it when you transffered data across to TVersity
5.) Set the computer up using the xbox 360
6.) Stream the files across remembering to have the source file either in the same folder or drive you transffered your file from to TVersity!

Hope this helps!

Doesn't work with XP. Only WMC or Vista.

ahh ok i c

@amino or anyone that uses a media center PC with their 360...

Has anyone got streaming to work while using ZoneAlarm firewall the free edition?? Ive got transcode360 streaming perfectly, but it only works when i turn off zonealarm and enable the inbuilt windows firewall instead. I connect both my PC and my 360 to the same router. Ive accepted the right applications in the zonealarm proggys list (as per micro$oft instructions) but theres obviously still something blocking it. Annoying really, as id like to just keep zonealarm on all the time. However, do i really need zonealarm, if my router has an inbuilt firewall and windows firewall is turned on?
#24
I got the tversity to work whilst using ZoneAlarm - so can't be a big issue.
#25
kewl... ok, do you use the free version i take it? What settings did you have to change etc in zonealarm to get streaming to work in the 1st place??
#26
I use the full version. Never changed anything, when I got the pop-up asking to allow, I allowed !! simple as.
