city dont have champions league football
#5
thought he'd be more expensive tbh..great news for barca.
#6
shame he would have done well at untied
#7
Gutted. Wanted him at chelsea but torres/aguero will do :w00t:
Also thought it would be more, thought he had a ~£40m release clause.

Barca are going to be even more awesome with villa and fabregas. Don't want to be meeting them in the champions league next season.

i.m afraid united cant compete with the big boys now, the days when utd splashed out £20-30 million are over, its bargain basement for us i'm afraid, who knows fergie might unveil some gems,
we seriously need a world class striker to help rooney though
#11
great signing for Barca, they will be an even better team next season - how scary is that!
They got him for a bargain price as well.

shame he won't be in the premiership as I would love to see him play

Fergie said today not to expect any signings, or 1 at most this summer. You're right they do need a striker to help Rooney

If Rooney is still there. RM have got to sign someone out of this world now. Who is left to sign?

Wouldn't be at all suprised to see RM launch a £100+ million bid for Rooney (not sure he'd go / be let go though)

Good signing for them, they should've done this deal last year though instead of wasting all that on Ibrahimovich, although it does look like they will keep Zlatan and play Villa up front with him and Messi.
#16
I think they'll try and pair him with Torres, they do a great job as spains front 2

Lol if Barca get Villa, Torres and Cesc. They will be unstoppable. I don't see Torres going this season though and Cesc is still 50/50 despite some of the media acting as though he's already passed his medical and waiting to be unveiled.
#18
City havent decided if we want Fabregas or Torres yet so they wont be signing anywhere just yet

You can't blame Torres if he wants to go elsewhere. Think Liverpool would rather sell him to a foreign team rather tha another PL team.
#20
says a lot for the appeal of the premier league, ronaldo last year, fabregas will most likley go this year,

benzema chose real madrid over the premiership, as did david villa,

most likley torres will leave liverpool soon too...

A move to city for either player would be a step down would it not?

Yeah you can't blame Torres, but the only way he'd go is if he forced the move and asked to leave and I can't see him doing that now. If they have another fail season then I could see him going but not now.

You never know in football. I think he'll move on this year.

Same with Fabregas except he IS forcing a move, LMAO

There's a huge difference between the two though. Cesc we got for basically nothing, he's been with us 7 years and is asking to go back to his boyhood club to be with the players he grew up with, a manager he idolised growing up and to be with his family. I can't blame him and I'm not going to be devestated or angry at him if he leaves. Torres on the other hand has only been at Liverpool for 3 seasons, cost them over £20m and he has no ties with Barca. I think Torres will stay at Liverpool at least this season although there is always the chance he could go, especially if his head is turned during the world cup.
#27
Torres will stay at Liverpool one more season, if they do badly then he'll move to Italy or Spain. He won't move to another prem club partly on the basis that it is doing his long term fitness countless problems.

not really saying a lot about the premier league or the strength of foreign leagues, it says a lot about the pull of Barca & Real and the money they have.
