Stupid Windows 8

I thought I would have a look at this,so I downloaded, and Installed.
It appears now that its up and running I can't go back tae Windaes 7 without a disc copy of windows ?? and a clean install.

I'm 50/50 on if I like it or not as its only been 24 hours but I can see great things in it. But for now My email wont work and I need my email.

Why am I ranting on and on !! how do I fdisk my pc that's a year old and how do I get a hard copy of windows 7.
I've an Acer Aspire M5910 and I've been told the restore discs don't work. AAAArrggghhhhhhh

sorry... but u should have at least created some recovery disks before attempting to mess about with ur OS

if u have ur license key - u can borrow another copy of the same edition (or download it) and reinstall

can i suggest .. the next time to partition ur hd and install any different os onto new partition

Stick with windows 8. It is awesome and will only get better.

These may not work with an OEM key?

It should do once as it will have been shipped with a bulk offline activation.

The lesson is dont mess with beta software if you arent confident sorting your own problems out or using google .

or without looking into testing these kind of things on a virtual machine instead of your main pc :p

Echoing a few responses, always test OS's in a VM. If you don't know how to VM it, Dual boot it. If you're unsure, google them :)

It does state when you carry out the upgrade to Windows 8 that you cannot return without a re-install or restore from image back-up.

8 on a tablet or touch screen looks promising.
On a standard PC it's an abomination right now.

The acer will usually have a recovery partition, will that work? I don't know what the keyboard combo is to do this but it may be worth finding out, second as soon as you use fdisk and delete the partitions you will have a blank drive which will need all the drivers downloaded from the Acer website assuming they are all on there. If it was my computer I would ring Acer and get some recov discs sent out which is about £25. Was a bit of a silly thing to do if you ask me.

Anyway Windows 8 after 2 days of testing now ROCKS !!
I don't get any spam email now as the mail app doesn't work plus the pc is now very very slow which means I'm reading more !!
Still can't find any of my old photos or music but I'm still looking. All my games seem lost but the good news is that after 4 years I've finally got rid of that Steam thing and footie manager 11 has gone as well, which is a result.

I'll keep Win8 on my desktop 4 now !!
