Success with complete refund from BigOffers

Many of you already know about the big scam of BigOffers.co.uk, they basically attracted many of us with very low price on network devices (namely wireless USB printer adaptors and gaming wireless adaptors... all belkin products) but with the catch that you could only order one of each and spend at least £10 PLUS £5 postage.
So to buy these devices you had to purchase more stuff to reach £10.

Who placed an order for these items most likely ended up like me receiving a box with everything in it but the most wanted items (the belkin adaptors).
(it's all covered here http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/576757/belkin-2-port-usb-print-server-2-00? )

After much pestering them with emails I finally managed to get a full refund which would include the cost of the belkin items (obviously) but also that of the postage because, let's face it... they tried it! And they failed.

Here is my correspondence with them after opening a "ticket" for Incomplete Delivery on their website

FROM ME

I did not receive all the items I ordered, regardless of the fact that on the website they are all marked as DESPATCHED, each one of them.
A box has been delivered with the following items missing:

BELKIN-01213 Belkin 2-Port USB Print Server
BELKIN-01203 Belkin Wireless G Gaming Adapter

I want these items to be delivered or else I expect a refund inclusive of the cost of the missing items AND the postage paid. Because if I was told that these items were missing I wouldn`t have ordered the rest at all knowing that postage was £4.99.

Be aware that a paypal action has been taken already. Case ID PP-***-***-***.

If you agree to either deliver the missing products, or else refund the cost of these and that of the postage (for a total of £10.98), I will let the paypal dispute fall automatically. If none of these two options will be accepted I will escalate the dispute to a proper claim.
I sincerely hope that you will find one of my two solutions agreeable.

ASSISTANT

Hello M.,

Thank you for your message

Thank you for taking the time to contact us. As a new website, we very much value customers feedback in order to improve our service to all. Please accept our sincere apologies for failing to complete your order. We have thoroughly investigated the matter and it has come to light that we have a technical issue that is allowing incorrect stock levels to be forwarded from our warehouse to our website.

We have designed a more robust solution which we are working rapidly to put into place.

To demonstrate in a more tangible way our genuine apologies for the poor level of service you have encountered, we will offer you a full refund for missing stock plus a 10% discount off your next purchase with the code 10PERCENTOFF.

We trust this has restored your faith in BigOffers.co.uk and we look forward to an ongoing customer relationship with yourself. Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention and please, dont hesitate to contact us directly should there be any other issues.

Kind regards

Agnieszka

FROM ME

I'm afraid that your refund for the missing items will not be enough at all, I request also refund for postage. Or else, you will send me the missing items.
I have not restored my faith in your company as this was clearly a very cheap trick to attract customers.
These missing items were the only reason why people like me placed an order on your website; with the excuse of the £10 minimum purchase you made sure that your customers also bought other items, you tricked people into buying items that otherwise they would have never ordered, especially with a delivery charge as high as £4.99.
I should have known the offer was too good to be true. The classic scam, and yet I fell for it.

I will only accept two possible resolutions:
1) a refund inclusive of the price of the missing items and the cost of the postage
or, in alternative
2) the missing items to be sent to me, at no extra charge.

If none of the two possibilities are agreeable to you, Im afraid I will have to move my paypal dispute to the state of a claim. I do not care of any discount because I wont be ordering again from your website.

ASSISTANT

Hello M.,

Thank you for your message

We will issue the refund for the missing items inclusive of the delivery charge. Once again sorry for all the inconvenience caused.

I can only assure we we never meant to con our customers. The technical problems were having are real and as much as we cant help it for past orders we are working hard on resolving them for the future purchases, so that the same situation doesnt happen again.

Thank you for your understanding.

Kind regards

Agnieszka

FROM ME

Thanks for accepting one of my two reasonable options to solve this situation.

Looking forward to receive the refund as agreed so that I can close the Paypal dispute for the better.

Regards

M. M.

FROM ME

I see that the cost of missing items was refunded but not the delivery charge. Still waiting the rest of the refund we ageed on.
(they tried!!!)

FROM ME

I received today the refund for the delivery charge too. Thanks for your support

(a day later)

The lesson is, DO NOT BUY FROM BIGOFFERS.CO.UK. It takes a lot of time and effort to get your money back, as soon as I told them that it was a scam they imediately agreed also on postage refund, wonder why uh?
If you don't want to have troubles avoid them or you'll be having to go through this.

Ouch bit long winded for a refund. Good job you put it up though as i was tempted to order from that site having received a £5 off voucher.

Thanks i will now not be ordering from them

Have some rep :)
#3
I was almost tempted to tell Agnieszka to shove that 10% discount up someplace... but I had to keep it as civil as possible.

They didn't even reply to my last messages, they must have been really annoyed by the fact that a customer managed to get his money back.
I don't even think Paypal would have sided with me if I had raised the claim to a dispute, that's why I had to try scarying them a bit. Glad it worked.
#4
Yer more than likely paypal would of sided with them, at least from my experiences and what i have heard from other people. Paypal seem unintersted with claims unless it is from ebay.
#5
Nice one I have been scammed by them in exactly the same way I was busy with exam revision at the time and took the refund and 10%, not that i'll ever be using it.

My retaliation is the review below which i've left on a couple of review sites(If anyone know's of any review sites let me know and i'll chuck it on) they shouldnt be able to get away with stunts like this.

rep from me too

If you are reading this review of bigoffers.com to see if they are a legitimate and honest company my advice is DO NOT BUY FROM THEM!.

Chances are you have seen an item on their website which is being sold at a ridiculously reduced price which seems almost too good to be true, IT IS!.

bigoffers.co.uk have a minimum order policy of £10 which means the miraculassly reduced item must be bought with an item you didn’t even want in the first place just to get over £10 and grab the bargain. Add to this their inflated postage charge and you could end up paying over £15 more for the original item you originally wanted.

NOW HERE'S THE KICKER when your package arrives you will find that the ridiculously reduced price item isn't there and you are left with the item you didn't even want and a dent in your wallet where the inflated postal charge used to live.

When you contact them seeking an explanation on why the only item you where interested in purchasing is missing you will be fed the line "were very sorry but we have been having problem's with our stock level system here's a 10% discount".

Fair enough you think I don’t have my original ridiculously reduced priced item or my inflated postage charge but at least I have a TV extension cable and 10% of the next ridiculously reduced item on their site.

This is until you take the bait of the next great offer and the whole cycle begins again. “were very sorry but we have been having problem's with our stock level system here's a 10% discount".

DO NOT FALL FOR IT AVOID! AVOID! AVOID!.

Im feeling quite happy that i put off buying from that site for a few days now :)

Well I thought Paypal wouldn't help me because in their eyes it would appear as if I had not received some of the items ordered and that I'm claiming a refund for the missing items AND postage.

The reason why I asked the postage is that I wouldn't have ordered from them at all in the first place had I not been lured into buying extra stuff.
Paypal obviously wouldn't see the complicated scam behind all this and just settle for the items refund, not postage. At least that's what I think it would have happened. It's understandable of Paypal. In that case it would only be in the hands of trading standards but for £4.99 no one could be bothered going through that hell.

Anyway in my paypal claim I methodically posted all the messages that I had exchanged with them so that there would have been a record of the bull***s they have been saying and my real reason behind the request.
#8
Oh and by the way they even gave me a free delivery code shortly after... ha! There is NOTHING that would tempt me in buying again from them.

Danmc, you're absolutely right.... AVOID! AVOID! AVOID! AVOID!
#9
Did you have to sign for the items when they came? because technically the site could of bulls**teed paypal by saying that they sent them all and you were lying, at least going on the complete rubbish they had stated in those messages.

But in the end you won :)
#10
My neighbour took it and signed. They even have an online tracking system saying who it was delivered to... I guess that's why it costs £5! LOL

Anyway on the website they said all items dispatched and not a word on the missing items. In theory if I had not complained, nothing would have happened. On their website it says "dispatched", one does not complain or accept their words of apologies and a 10% and... mission success. £10 spent on a couple of wires that cost £2 in a shop. What a conning bunch of...

Unfortunately for them I was more ****** off than ever. Making me spend £15 for a couple of telephone wires and antenna!
#11
Haha yer, a site full of mostly c**p with the odd thing you want
#12
yeah i agree with you they defo are - Mind your language. aScottishBloke

i ordered 40 of them wireless recievers and only got 25, they claimed that the other 15 were lost in the post (i didnt really mind tbh)

but then i made the mistake of ordering from them again! ordered 2 belking gaming adapters with some other crappy stuff and didnt recieve the belkin adapters! raised a support ticket and got the exact same reply.

so yes i am 100% definately not going to buy anything from them ever again unless its really really really cheap and i can buy more than 1 of the item instead of adding other stuff to make up the order!

Thats exactly the reply I got from them about the belkin router issue, word for word!

"Thank you for taking the time to contact us. As a new website, we very much value customers feedback in order to improve our service to all. Moderators cant we do something about posted "deals" (I use the term loosely where Bigoffers are concerned)

Personally I'm gonna make it my mission in life to post warnings about any Bigripoffers.co.uk I see posted :x

Haha I KNEW it! I knew they were just using pre-written text to choose from their collection "A lie for each occasion".

I agree that something HAS to be done to warn people against this website. It's not just the experience of a few members, therefore we can imagine that they use this form of scam constantly.
People on this board should be at least warned in advance of what they might risk when buying their UNBEATABLE offers.

Also, if they were a serious company they would not charge their customers until the items are ready to ship. Instead they take the money, make you wait for who knows how long and then you receive a half-empty box while on their website it says that everything has been dispatched. They are purposely trying to scam people, it's not just "a mistake" as they say.
#15
I was talking to my brother about them last night, i'm going to find a box full of really light, useless crap around my house and post it to their MD at the address above with a covering letter stating that i'm sending them a box of MY crap for a change :D
#16
We're not the only ones, here's a link from their forums...

On their forum they make sure to submerge the threads with messages posted by their own moderators and make it look as if, again, there must have been some mistake and that customer service will deal with it no problem.

All they keep saying is
1) so sorry... apologies
2) open a ticket

All you get is a refund for the missing items. Only if you harass them they will refund the postage. Never dealt with a less professional website before.

On their forum you also get the hilarious fake members (moderators in disguise) that post this sort of things in the end of the thread....
Have placed several orders recently and not had any problems with them.

just bought a half price macbook on Wednesday and it was dispatched on friday. So excited always wanted a mac computer but could never afford it.

just... LOL!
#18
i rejected the delivery as i too had placed an order for useless tat to get the belkin wireless printing thing, it got back to them and they refunded after a paypal claim which sided in my favour.
#19
Ha! I'm glad to know that Paypal would side with us conned customers.

Perhaps this bad experience with you is the reason why they fell under my polite threats of involving Paypal.
