Such thing as good but cheap prescription glasses online ?

I was close to buying some from a thread a while back at £15 but the reviews were not the best. I'd like to get a pair of glasses so I can mainly have a back up pair but also as my currents are reaction lenses they turn dark at any light. Not the best or politest in this weather.

Is there such a thing as a good company doing a good - frame, lens, extras (coatings etc) and service ?. I simply cant afford high street prices but seeing the odd thread with online offers I am curious on opinions.

I used a few over the past couple of years and the best quality glasses came from http://www.doglasses.com/ I had to wait a bit longer than the others as the come from Pakistan but quality was worth the wait. I had a poor deal with selectspecs, I had a problem and they offered at my cost to put them right.

It seemed that the others whilst cheap sent poor quality frames, if using them to chuck in a drwaer at work or on the dashboard they are fine

Wanting a new pair or two for variation and dare I say style. So long as they will keep together for a year (depending on price) I would be happy. I'd like to be able to buy different styles that I would normally avoid due to risk of them looking wrong on my face.

Thanks, some good selection of sites then. What are most like for customer service ?. These days customer service is as important to me as price and quality.
I just need to figure out my suited style now. I always had a hard time "classifying" what face shape I have. I'm almost a hybrid of 3 of the suggested types. :(

Well I will add again that my experience with SelectSpecs was really poor, they were not helpful at all I had to pay to return the specs to them for them to offer to give me a different pair for more money or they would just return them. This was with vari-focals as their method of making them seems to vary to all of the others I have seen but they would not agree..

I think its better for you to buy from the high street if CS is important to you. You need to try the glasses on to know what you want and even after you buy them, you need them to adjust the frame to suit your face. imo the biggest advantage to buying glasses online is definitely the price only.
