Suggestion for Short break in Northern England

Hi
Does anyone have any recommendation for a hotel/guesthouse/B&B to go to for a short break? Looking for a place for three nights with a budget of about £150. Want to go somewhere where there is lots to see (without a car).

Any help would be appreciated!

How about York? Is it just yourself?

York sounds good. Do you have a hotel in mind? It would my partner and I.

I dont know the yorkshire area, but a search on that site brings up 3 nights DBB pp, for £75 at a spa hotel and a load cheaper than that too. We have never been on a bad break with them

I have only ever used them for breaks in Scotland and probably the nicest place we stayed at was the Loch Fyne Hotel in Inverary. Scenery was out of this world, but it depends on what type of break your looking for and how far u want to travel. I would search through it, and anything u like the look of then check the trip advisor website

Put bossyboots' bins out and you can have her house for three days! :w00t:

There were some super-cheap log cabin holidays posted last year, I don't know whether they'd still be available at the rates they were then but they were absolute bargains from what I remember!

well you are used to the cold weather! I would definitely recommend http://www.crerarhotels.com/ourhotels/loch_fyne_hotel/ but only if your looking for a quiet, romantic break :-D Its lovely. Also, I emailed the manager of the hotel beforehand saying I was a bit hesitant in booking as saw some bad reviews on trip advisor............actually always do this as I am a bit of chancer...............and he emailed me back assuring me hotel was lovely and upgraded us for no extra charge to a suite :w00t: the room was just gorgeous!!

Give me a moment and I will upload the view from our room...............

p.s that hotel was booked through the easy breaks website as soooo much cheaper

I'm a bit late to this party, but I'd suggest York too. Great city loads to do.

York sounds good. Does anyone have any recommendations of a hotel/guesthouse/B&B in the area? Somewhere you perhaps stayed at and liked?
