I don't normally read The Sun newspaper but picked one up today and saw headlines you would normally see on the front of the daily star. However, what really shocks me is the headline news of a pregnant male and a further four page spread inside on the same subject compared to the report of 48 deaths by a car bomb in Syria briefly mentioned in a passing comment at the bottom of page 8.
I don't think I will ever buy or read this paper again - It's shameful.

Syria is old news - people are used to hearing about it every day.
Sad to say but its just a fact of every day life.

A pregnant man is something thats never happened before, hence it is major news (not actually read the article just going off what you've written)
so their lives don't matter to you? just another day?
Look i cant change the way the world is. No more than i can change people dying from cancer.

If you have issue with it - go post all over the ISIS forums. Yes it is sad whats happening, and im aware of it that people die in Syria over bombings. But we cant do anything to change it im afraid.

did I ask you to do anything????!!! :/
you said Syria is old news and it's a every day life.
at least we should know what they are still suffering from and who they have lost just because of this proxy war!!

all news outlets show these kind of things, but yes I know you must be happy they don't be on the first page and repeated every other minute like other news of attacks !

Oh ffs, every single time you whinge with hundreds of question marks or exclamation marks, accusing us of being racist or doing something else wrong.
Why does it need to be on the front page of the paper every day?? Why aren't cancer deaths on the front page every day?? Why aren't stillborn deaths on the front page every day?? Why aren't murder victims etc...

Deaths don't need to be on the front page all the time, you must be a depressive person to want that!

That's what you get for reading those garbage newspapers! It's like those click bait stories all over Facebook, you just don't bother

The sun has always been a bit like that... More magazine style reporting than actual news.

Agreed, old news. Who gives a F any more.
It takes time away from "...and finally" where they used to show squirrels on waterskis etc.

Rarely read newspapers these days anyway. Its just cherry picked news stories (usually Tory Propaganda thats anti UKIP, Labour or Trump) thats designed to sell.
Actually prefer columns that the majority would define as "garbage" just because they are nothing to do with propaganda filled politics.

I honestly don't understand why anyone believes anything they read in this rag anyway. They've been proven lie time and time again. A waste of good money and good trees, imho.

I feel for the younger generations, they are so blind to all this garbage, they read it as gospel.

Philib, I only ever buy the Sun for its sports section, never for its quality of reporting. It's a tabloid, they usually avoid the news, it's like reading a gossip magazine.

Easy to dismiss & mock The Sun & Mail...but these are the most popular & highest selling newspapers in the uk!

Now I know why they print this garbage otherwise what else would [i]you[i] buy,
Dont think you speak for the majority of people who actually do give a F what is going on in the world.

Ive noticed (especially on HUKD) that if its not related to politics, its automatically dismissed as Garbage and tabloid gutter trash. Probably why the Daily Mail and The Sun are frowned upon as they are against the forum dress code.

Its like wearing trainers to a formal do.

What's Ukip got to do with a pregnant man/ women? Unless Nigel Farage was involved in the conception - now that would be a story!

I'm still waiting for peace in Syria, Palestine, Israel. I'm a huge fan of ancient civilisations but these are no places to take families right now.

It sells papers. If they printed headline news about was & destruction every day, people would stop buying their paper. Not everyone wants to read about depressing news everyday, especially as it's all out of our control. Sad, but true. Having said that, I don't even know how the sun is still printing news. Absolute joke of a paper (_;)

The deaths in Syria are a drop in the ocean compared to the amount of people that will die from Cancer today.
Currently an estimated 11.8 people die from cancer every minute.

There must be plenty of other forms of media these days to cater to that audience.

What did you expect from the Sun? It's never exactly been the benchmark of independent, investigative journalism. It's sad that so many people keep buying such trash by way of escaping the reality of actual news.

Newspapers are a business commodity just like potatoes, soap powder or CDs.

If you really feel you have more worthy front page news then why not start in publishing? However, don't be surprised if people choose not to buy it because your headlines are not what they choose to read.

Why is Syria more worthy of the front page compared to other issues all other the world? News is a personal thing, headlines to you are not necessarily headlines to someone in Mexico, or Sweden, or St Ives.

Forcing your views, or headlines, on others is censorship. Newspapers survive or fail by operating as a business, if more choose to buy then the headlines were the right ones.

I'd say that news is increasingly about the frivolous, the shocking and the puerile now, but I'm not sure if it was ever any different. There's not a great market for print news about the issues that actually matter because often they're complicated.

Newspapers like the Mail and The Sun still sell in fairly decent numbers because they present easy to understand news that gives people something to moan about, something to be outraged about or simply something to ogle.

That's because the majority of people aren't fantastically inquisitive or smart.
