Super Market question

Our Local Tesco in Lichfield has closed down to be re-built and will not re-open til November and i have been using it for 20 years so as you can imagine it's a bit of a decison as to which will get my custom. I did go to Asda in Tamworth but was'nt keen. The question is then what supermarket do you shop in and why.

Thanks all daft question I know but these things do upset the normal run of life and BTW the one that must be obeyed has said that i know Tesco's are everwhere but want's to keep local

Thanks for that, I went to the local one but it seems to have a very strange layout but i suppose we will just have to get used to the new shopping experience!

Thanks can i have your discount then? ( i assume you do work for them!)

i prefer Tesco. its usually about the same price as asda FOR THE THINGS I BUY (i know asda is chaper sometimes but not always for the bits that i buy) but Tesco does Clubcard points and i manage to rack up loads through petrol and shopping so it makes it even cheaper.

plus it quiet on a wednesday evening when i go which is nice.
#7
morrisons at the moment but will do Tesco if they have any decent deals. Our local Asda is full of snaffs so I give that a wide berth :)
#8
My nearest asda always seems cheaper than the other stores - for my shopping.

In truth though I think it all depends on what you're buying as they all vary quite a bit in price.
#9
Sainsburys - Get quality and value.

I order online as it's difficult to get to the large supermarkets. I do use Tesco's when there are codes about as when they have good deals on they can be VERY good and I prefer their ranges on somethings. However more often that not ASDA as it's cheaper by far and more delivey codes about.

I did mention doing the online shop with Tesco to the other half but she said " Have you seen the way those young kids chuck stuff in the trolly's they use"
I do wish life was more simple!

Morrisons, Love the bakery, Prices are good, Not necessarily the cheapest but have good offers.

Hate Tesco's, Quality of most their own brand no frills products are virtually inedible to me. You certainly do get what you pay for.

Asda's ok
#12
asda since it upgraded and since tesco stopped all their points...the gits!
#13
I use either Sainsburys or Asdas as i have found both cheaper.

Have you tried to see if you can get delivery from Tescos for your addy just thought another way round it and you still get to use tescos :-)

Lichfield Morrisons is ok, as is the one in Burntwood. Your nearest Tesco would probably be Heath Hayes now, but that one is a bit hit and miss.

Morrisons is ok and i think the one you have over there in Lich is bigger than the one we have over here in Rugeley.Think you always spend more anyway when you try somewhere new,as you dont know the layout and you notice different stuff ..

Can't believe no-one's mentioned Happy Shopper or Londis.

No votes for the Co-op either.

Depends where you live, none of the above near me,no Waitrose or Somerfield either.

Its Asda,Tesco,Morrisons,M&S and Sainsburys and only 2 of those are in walking distance to me.

Of all the ones you mentioned only one is a fair distance away from me.

I went in Asda the other day and thought I had won the lottery. They were reducing loads of items that I needed anyway to ridiculous prices. Picked up a lamb shank for 10P. Same for sausages. Yogurts 5P. 9 Granary Rolls 10P. Also got a good deal at full price 250g vintage cheddar £1. Cant believe my luck. Most of my trolley cost less than 15P an item. Fridge and freezer is bursting
