  +1 There is usually a Yamaha set on here for around £180 which includes speakers and the amp. Im not sure of the connections on it though but its something to look into

  Thanks guys, you've all been a great help, so to plug from the speakers to the tv do I just use a standard audio cable?

  You don't plug them into the tv, you plug them into the amp. But yes, use speaker cable.
