Swapping numbers from one network to another?

Hi everyone, basically i just got a iphone on pay as you go and i ported my old number from t mobile to my new o2 sim. This is o2 sim has free wifi and free internet for 12 months as it's the sim card that came with my iphone 3gs.

So now i want to get a sim only contract on vodafone which comes with free internet and put that in my iphone, which is unlocked. But i would want to transfer my number from my o2 payg to the vodafone contract. But if i do this that will deactivate the o2 sim card and i wont have free internet on it anymore, which i would want to give to a family member.

So is there anyway i can successfully port my o2 number to my new vodafone contract and still have the paygo o2 sim working with free internet and wifi, by maybe switching the number i get from the vofadone contract or any other number i dont really mind on the o2 sim.

the free internet on the sim card is iphone only anyway, so unless the family member has an iphone its no use :)
they do have a iphone 3g which the 12months free internet is expiring in a few days.

So is this possible?
suppose u could fone o2 up and ask?
hahaa, i called o2 they said the o2 sim will get deactivated as soon as i transfer the number to another network, so basically i would lose the o2 sim and its free 12months of internet. So i was thinking is there anyway i could get past that, e.g. if i transferred the number over and just called o2 and said i lost the sim or something and they send me another one instead of checking their records and see that i have actually transferred over the number, i don't really know what im hoping for, i just want that 12months of internet still!
you can have one or the other to be quitely honestly, a working sim or a dead sim but the number carried over... since if you report lost sim card they just send you identical one obviously, with the real number...but in your case it wouldnt be a number to replace since its ported over
Did you explain the situation? I would have except say you want the o2 sim for your iphone.

there u go, not outrageous at all, please think before speaking!:)
I did say it was for my iPhone but the woman I was talking to didn't care and sounded a bit p'd off
ok so i guess there is no way, guess the 12 months free internet is gonna go in the bin then...

you can always get another sim off ebay with the unlimited internet, think its only a couple of quid or something?
