Swiftcover and esure car insurance - any experience with them?

Searching for car insurance and both these companies gave suspiciously low quotes.

Admiral/Elephant group also quote low but I have heard countless horror stories about how they mess you about if you need to claim (even more than insurers usually do).

Any similar stories (or good one) with swift and esure?

cheers

One of my workmates wrote off a car insured with Swiftcover, it took them about seven months before they eventually coughed up. There were many long phonecalls during which no-one could answer anything to do with the claim, it sounded immensely frustrating.

I have to admit I've been fine with Admiral/Elephant although I've not had to claim for anything more than a windscreen. There's been a few issues over the years but they normally answer the phone promptly, they've resolved the problem and they also actually call you back. Perhaps I'll have a problematic claim in the future but for now I'd choose them over Swift.

We are also with Admiral (multicar) They always dive low quotes and so far the only problems I have had is that I can not understand what they are saying (im not racist, my DH is Indian and he cant even understand them) its very annoying and on Saturday when I wanted temp cover for my new car in the end I had to ask to speak to somebody else. Not sure I will stay with them in jan as we not longer need multicar will wait and see what they quote me.

I'm currently with esure and got a fairly good deal on a group 17 car.

I went through quidco and received £75 cash back as well.

Hopefully, i wont find out how long a claim takes !

i claimed on swiftcover last year cos of a numpty that hit my car - there was no problem, car repaired to my satisfaction and my excess re-imbursed.

very happy with swiftcover

I recently had a car written off whilst insured with swiftcover, despites a few hiccups along the way they did make an offer within 48 hours and coughed up the readies within a couple of weeks. I guess it being the other drivers fault did help proceedings...

They also gave me a competetive renewal quote more recently.

Am with Esure but went through moneysupermarket.com as the quote through quidco was £135 dearer :w00t: taking away any Quidco advantage. Quick on the phone to answer questions which i had.
