got tamiflu straight away - that eased my symptoms very quickly

lousy for a couple of days, felt like the hand of god was pressing me down on my bed

then got better quite quickly

very unpleasant illness though

I had it. Came on very quickly, and I was SO poorly for a full three weeks, then it started to lift, but I've definitely still got the dregs of it. I can't take much of anything the doctor can offer (various reasons) so not being able to take tamiflu probably made it last longer, but I don't think it would really have eased the symptoms significantly. The kids all got it, but being much stronger than me, seemed to cope with just lots of rest and fluids. Still were very poorly, but they bounce back quick don't they. The littlest one was the most concerning, she's only just turned 6 months, and her breathing got so bad she nearly had to be admitted to hospital, but the steaming thingy just about helped her sleep through the whole ordeal. Hubby never caught it, but there's a good chance he passed it on to some chaps at work. They're all being tested this week.

Sucks, but now I don't have to face the to jab or not to jab debate. They all had the flu before the jabs were offered!

I had it,
I took a few doses of tamiflu but it didnt work for me - ended up having some allergic reaction and throwing up everytime i ate something.

Paracetomol is much better, give it a week or so and you'll be back to normal :)

unfortuantly i havent got anyone who can assist with the kids. i filled in the flu list online and it came up with seriously ill ring 999 for an ambulance. so instead i rang the nhs and told them i didnt want to go to hospital so they have given me instructions to follow. as for my partner he still ******ed off to the gym (selfish sod.) i am lucky that 2 of the daughters are older and they looked after the youngest last night so i could go to bed. still takes the peanuts though as my partner came in a 9pm and got one of the daughters to make him some dinner.
