I know.. "another swineflu thread"..
Anyway this morning i woke up feeling quite well, achey, stomach was going mental.. Headache.. Previous night i was quite restless.. Tiny bit stuffy.. Normal signs of flu coming on. Didnt go into work till 10:30am as i was 'toilet bound'.. But after that had gone a bit, i decided to go in and weather the rest.
Got a 7 week old boy, so had to be a little more cautious.. Took temp, isn't to high.. Still feel like i got something coming on.. But gonna wait till i see some more leveling signs.
Got me wondering though, speaking to GP on the phone.. Basically you just tell them symptoms, bam.. 5 days off work. GP even asked if i wanted to be on safe side and take some time off work, but i felt like waiting for some more pronounced signs. Have no physical contact with the little one for 1-2 days, making sure i don't cough open in the house etc.
What i found funny, is anyone could ring in.. Spout off anything they wanted and boom... Off work for 5 days with consent from a doctor and tamilfu prescription to shove in the employers face if they question you.
I mean i hardly ever take sick days.. In the last 2 years i've had 1 sick day. Meet plenty of serial skivers in my time, and they must be having an absolute field day with this one lol.
Whats also worrying, is it's probably playing hell with the statistics aswell.
So think anyone at your work is skiving on the swineflu ticket?
