got a plasma myself and do get screen burn when playing on the 360 however 30seconds on a snowy channel clears it, nothing permanent

No need to worry about image burn, unless you keep something on pause all night!
Definitely get the 1080p,

I had a slight problem with my first plasma 2 years ago (LG32inch)

Bought a panny about 8 months ago and no problems whatsoever

Check post 6, googled it and the problems seem to be from 2006/2007

Have had a Panasonic plasma for nearly a couple of years now and never had a problem. I used to press green to get rid of things like the red button which stays on in the corner of BBC1, don't bother any more. Seriously it's not much of an issue, and the difference is completely worth it.

At that size I would go for 1080p, but I would also save up another month and buy a Panasonic, seriously, they're amazing

i looked at 2 50" LGs side by side today, similar spec playing a bluray dvd today , one was 1080p and the other was 720p, i couldnt see any difference up close or from distance?

So if playing Xbox 360 on a plasma , especially Fifa 11, will it be super smooth like my old 40 inch LCD?
