Hello all,
I've just moved into my new flat, and i want to switch to the cheapest companies but I have no clue as to who supplies me with what, and it seems comparison sites want you to state your old supplier and loads of other things? Its the first time I move into a flat where I manage the bills, so this is all new to me.

Are you renting? Contact your agent for details. You are meant to provide moving in readings as you may well find you will be paying for the previous renters gas/electric etc.

alright so im with swalec for both gas and electricity,

electricity - domestic standard
gas - general saver

just comparing the market now. are there any companies i need to stay away from, or things i need to look out for?

Do my trick change every couple of months going through quidco it almost covers the bills with the cashback!

I changed from British Gas to NPower about 12 months ago (two salesmen called at the door). I then changed back during the cooling off period coz I discovered the guys had told a pack of lies regarding pricing. Now, I'm getting billed by both British Gas and NPower and the latter is forever threatening to come and cut our gas supply off. I don't recommend switching, however I know others that have switched and it's all gone smoothly. :)

british gas energy 5 appears to be the cheapest, dual fuel that is. however im getting some very different figures from different comaprison sites. as high as £750 and as low as £621 using the same data.
