i thought it would tell me what memory was in this laptop, but it hasnt, crucial doesnt tell me either

This will do it. It does not install (though you have to download it). Save the file then run it and it will give you all the info you can possibly need from your computer / laptop. It is free.

Oh I see. No it wont do that. It is still a good program to keep on your computer though. It reveals passwords you might have forgotten too.

normal E4800 or something .... should be on front of case

all thats on it is e-system 1212 on front
#13
try everest
#14
sassie
all thats on it is e-system 1212 on front

thats it ..... but slight problem ........ cannot find nothing on it

the e-systems are only sold by pc world, currys, dixons etc and they give no technical details about the Mobo .... unless you can get hold of the mobo name ... then not a lot can be done

pc world etc say you cannot upgrade them as they dont have a support section to sell parts etc

but you should be able too .... just need the mobo mode

right found out its ddr2 - 667mhz (333) thats what everast says - lol

anywhere sells that, cheapest is probably ebuyer or play.com ..... your laptop mobo should be able to take 4GB but probably best to only have 2GB unless your running huge applications
#17
Sassie, notebook could probably do with a spring clean...try CCleaner & PC TuneUp 2007. Also remove as many apps. that you don't need from the Startup folder.

HTH!

hmmmm..... wrong type of memory or faulty ...... is it seated properly ??? push hard on the memory stick to make sure its fully in ......

without knowing the mobo specs i can't say if its the mobo or the ram .... as its a newish mobo it should take a 2GB stick

right memory, checked what was in it and got same, kingston 2GB, tried it 3 times and after each time reinstalled old memory and it was fine
#23
There's a little application that you can download from the Crucial site that will check your system and tell you what memory it is capable of taking.
It works very well

look here person with same machine looking to do same as you

its one of 2 problems then......

1 ... the mobo is carp and can't take more than 1gb of memory (dixons etc always use cheap parts hence cant find mobo specs
2.... the memory is faulty and will need to be returned

i for the life of me cannot remember a program i used to find my pc specs ...... will try to remember tho
it gave me the mobo model # when i did a search on the pc

casper i found that, thats why i purchased 1GB, on opening it it only has one slot, it looks like a slot underneath it but its wired over so no memory can be added and no springs to hold two in, so why i went back for the 2GB, think its best for her to take it somewhere who knows something about it

I only found one slot, it looked like another slot immediately under it, but like fine wire over it, it deffo wasnt for memory, i did not feel confident enough to take the keypad out, it had no manual and could not find anything to help me online, so chose to go for a 2GB instead, which never worked, like i said i dont feel confident enough to start taking apart someone else laptop
